CodeGreen Meetings & Events

Our convention and meeting customers have become more conscious about their choices and each year, we find that demands have We have more than 2.5 million square feet of convention space across our properties in the U.S. and we organize more than more than 12,000 different meetings, gatherings, conventions, congresses and private events that are attended by two million people each year. In 2013, we expanded our convention facilities at several properties and there increased for more sustainable features and practices in the organization of large events and gatherings.

We estimate that around 25% of all contracts for conventions and meetings for corporate and institutional customers contain demands relating to environmental sustainability – energy efficiency, recycling, sustainable catering and more. Our CodeGreen strategy has placed us in a strong position to be able to meet these demands. We maintain a team of more than 200 trained Green Meeting professionals who can advise customers on sustainable choices when planning events.

We actively promote the sustainable features of our properties and facilities to encourage potential customers to differentiate their events with sustainable practices and facilities available as part of our overall service. In addition, Caesars has many innovative programs that allow our guests to help reduce impacts by simply doing business with us.

Teacher EXCHANGE ™ – In Nevada, we offer convention and meeting customers the opportunities to participate in our Teacher EXCHANGE™ partnership. Launched in 2002 by The Public Education Foundation, the Teacher EXCHANGE™ is a re-use resource center for southern Nevada public school teachers, offering learning tools that enhance classroom projects and curriculum. Donations of new and reusable items are collected from businesses and individuals and provided to teachers at no charge for in-class use. At Caesars, we encourage our convention and meeting customers to join us in donating all conference materials including notepaper and pens, display materials, folders, binders and all forms of equipment and meeting accessories for the benefit of schoolchildren in Nevada.

In 2013, we donated more than 400,000 pounds of supplies benefitting Southern Nevada classrooms, effectively diverting these supplies from landfills. In addition, Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas region properties and the Caesars Foundation have supported Teacher EXCHANGE™ since 2008, with funding totaling around $1.5 million. In 2013, the Caesars Foundation granted a further $250,000 enabling the initiative to expand its reach with the Teacher EXCHANGE Express, a new school supply delivery vehicle.

Clean the World – All of Caesars Entertainment's U.S. properties collect and donate lightly used soap and bottled amenities to Clean the World to be recycled and distributed to people in need around the world. To date, team members have collected 1.3 million bars worth of discarded soaps and shampoos and the Caesars Foundation has donated $550,000 to the organization. Part of the donation was used to open a Las Vegas-based recycling operations center that serves the entire west coast of the United States. In January 2014, a few all-star Caesars employees won the opportunity to join Clean the World on a trip to Philippines, where they distributed 17,000 bars of soap to children and teachers.

Rebuilding Together – Rebuilding Together rehabilitates homes for low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly, and those with disabilities. In collaboration with Caesars Foundation and Caesars Entertainment employees, multiple families, elderly homeowners, and veterans are able to receive much needed repairs and environmental upgrades to their homes to maintain a safe and healthy environment. In 2013, HEROs in Las Vegas, New Orleans and North San Diego engaged in rebuilding projects and handyman activities like repairing a veterans' community center, rebuilding private homes and facilitating energy-efficiency training. On Veterans Day in November 2013, hundreds of Caesars employees and Rebuilding Together volunteers performed safety upgrades and beautification projects in several communities across the country.
