This is my first trip back to Bally's since my last stay here in the 90's. Since then, this property has been improved by at least 500%, including a new shopping area outside in front of the property which used to be dead space. The rooms have been remodeled completely and of course, the best part of this property is the location. It's at the epicenter of action, across from Bellagio, Caesar's, and Linq and next to Paris. All literally within walking distance. Also, at a time when other casinos are getting rid of their poker rooms, the Bally's poker room is active but not overly crowded and with great staff, especially the day staff. It's located right next to the elevators for the South Tower. And last but not least, Bally's low price compared to similar good locations in the area makes for a great bargain. Now the bad news. Unfortunately, I got unlucky and got a room next to the elevators in the south tower and didn't realize how noisy it was until I actually had time to sleep in the room. Do not stay in the rooms next to the elevators. These rooms end with "04". Frankly, if they had taken care of the problem immediately for me, I would have given a higher rating but the way they handled it at first was horrible. In the service business, customer service is everything. At first, the front desk lady did not want to move me to a new room at all and gave me ear plugs. WTF? Then asked me why I didn't complain sooner. Really? Blaming the victim seems to be the current trend. Sad. I give it 0 for customer service. After haggling, then finally talking to the more friendly manager, I was finally allowed to move rooms. If they had not moved me, I would have changed hotels. What's sad is I know that they gave that horrible room to somebody else. Those rooms should be used for storage.Just to add insult to injury, the minibar faucet did not work in the first room and the lights in the bathroom didn't turn on in the second room. When I told the front desk, they acted as if this was normal and not at all surprised, adding to my suspicion that this is a common and not unusual situation. The day this happened, Caesar's Entertainment merged with Eldorado. Usually, this type of business deal does not make things better because they will be looking for cost cutting measures and not spending money to fix things. However, I will try again in a year to see if it gets better or worse.
