Caesars' and Harrah's have taken full advantage of the pandemic as an excuse to become cheap with such basic amenities as food and dining options. Neither hotel has any place to eat from 11 p.m. til 8 in the morning (and sometimes they don't have anything after 10 o'clock at night).Sure, they have a snack bar that stays open a little bit later, but that is NOT worthy of what is supposed to be a first class hotel. They have done away with in-room dining to save a few more pennies (they now call "room service" somebody dumping a paper bag with take out food at your room door. Think Doordash). And even these options are limited since they have chopped all menus to the bare minimum. (Apparently the virus thrives in places that offer more than just a few selections).I fear that the once classy 'empire' is continuing it's downward spiral.

So let me start off I did an early check in that wasn't available until 4 p.m. because the room wasn't "cleaned". So I waited about two and a half hours just to get a room, the guy in the front told me that it wasn't ready so they were going to upgrade me to an ocean view Suite. Which was one of the worst of views to start off with. The room the headboard was scratched it just look like an animal was staying in there. Room 8310.Also everything seems very outdated, from the shower to the refrigerator you get to manually turn on? Also the water sprinkler in the room look like it had a sketchy hole.TO TOP IT OFF come to find out they charge me a room upgrade fee PER day, that I did not request! So they gave me a crap room, a crap View, and they charge me for it. Go stay at Ocean rather than this hell-hole. could have stayed somewhere nicer. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY.

We used to love coming to Ceasar's. It was a first class establishment. Not now.We are often given a comped room, as we play a bit. This time, we were given a comped room for four nights! WOW! But when we checked in, there was no valet parking. The closest garage was closed and the open garage was about a ten-minute walk from the front desk. Not good for anyone with a mobility challenge. Only two workers at the front desk. Then another ten minute walk to our room in the Centurian Tower. The room was pleasant and clean, with two windows on the ocean. However, the paint was chipped. The hall carpet was worn and filthy, and it was not vacuumed every day, as I saw the same debris daily. The hall was consistently very hot. The brass on the elevator doors was stained. One of the pictures in the hall had come loose from it's mat and was off center. The sink faucet leaked. No washcloths one day. Time to eat. The only places open for dinner were Gordon Ramsey's Pub )very good and very pricey), Kui (very good, very pricey Asian food), and a fancy deli where two scoops of Gelato cost $6.45 plus tax. I believe some other restaurants may be open on the weekends. Gordon Ramsey's was also open for breakfast and lunch, with an upscale menu. No where to get a plate of eggs. Beauty salon closed. What we saw of Atlantic city was also pretty depressing. Many of the outlet stores were closed and shops on the Pier across from Ceasar's were closed. All the staff we dealt with were wonderful, friendly, a discouraged about what this once fine hotel has become. Don't think we will be visiting again.
