I stayed at Caesars Atlantic City for 4 nights. I noticed that Caesars recently sold Bally's and acquired Tropicana. At the hotel, wearing a face mask was not required for fully vaccinated guests. Despite COVID-19, many people were hanging around the 4-mile long boardwalk by tram, bike, scooter, walking or jogging. The stores of Tanger Outlets are conveniently located next to the hotel’s parking garage. The hotel was clean although the facilities were a bit old.

TL;DR - Great front-desk staff, excellent view, clean, but really really outdated. Room AC never got cool and it lacks a microwave. There are nicer places to stay, but the Centurion Tower at Caesars Atlantic City is perfectly acceptable if you can overlook its age.Our room was a comp visit. We were deciding between here or the newly renovated rooms at Harrahs. We chose the older rooms at Caesars because of the ocean view and the location, which is great. We don't regret it! It's nice being able to get to Bally's (which has nicer and newer slots and felt less dated and dark, btw) without having to leave the building, and Wild Wild West was a fun-ish stop between the two... if what you're looking for is the cemetery of slot machines. We walked up the boardwalk to Resorts, Hard Rock, and Oceans... and while we thought that would be a long walk, it really didn't feel as though it was. There's plenty to see on the boardwalk although we did ride the Jitney back.Onto the hotel review: We decided to check-in with the super-friendly front-desk staff (instead of the kiosk) and managed to charm our way into a top-level (44) room with a gorgeous ocean view. I'll start by stating a disclaimer that I know they are about to embark on a renovation of the Centurion tower that will probably alleviate some of the issues we had. However, during our visit, the property was incredibly outdated. The carpet in the hallways had some sort of bleach stains or other discoloration all over them. The room did not have any specific smell, so that was good. The room seemed very clean. The TV's were nice... in 2003. In 2021, however, they would be an embarrassment for any hotel to have, but incredibly out of step for what I expect from a property like Caesars. The refrigerator had been turned off, so we had to start it up and wait for it to get to temperature before anything was cold. It pretty much guaranteed the leftover food we had brought from our lunch would spoil by the time it got to temperature... but turns out that didn't matter because these rooms don't have microwaves in them anyway. I assume because they want you to eat room service or at their restaurants instead of your room... and if they had anything open during the week that wasn't a full-dining or was open past 9pm, that'd be acceptable. Considering they have no food court, and the only late-night food (or even quick-bite food) available is a coffee shop, they really should have microwaves in their rooms. If a 1-star motel can have a microwave, why can't Caesars? Because of this, and because the only dining open during the week were Gordon Ramsay Pub and KWI Noodle House, neither of which appealed to us, we ended up having every meal elsewhere (side note: I claimed my Celebration Dinner at Martorano's at Harrahs -- and that was definitely a smart choice. Food was outstanding, but be sure to make a reservation... even during the week). The biggest issue we had was the room temperature. The thermostat was on 60 when we got to the room... and it stayed on 60 for the whole time we were there. At no point did the room get "cool." I'd venture to say it never fell below 76. It blew the whole time, but never really cooled down. I like my hotel at a nice 68-69. It was quite warm for us.For the bathroom, I was pleased to find the bathroom not drafty at all after getting out of the shower, something I'd expect considering the bathroom was only closed off by a glass barn-door that has a large gap between the door and the wall. Of course, the fact that the room was so warm could also have contributed to the lack of draftiness. Having a separate water closet was actually nice, although there needs to be a small shelf or something in there and they really need to switch to LED bulbs or add some ventilation in there as the it became kinda like a sauna in there if you spent more than a few minutes in there with the door shut. The shower was very nice and the seat was a nice benefit. The TV in the mirror did still work although the TV is clearly so old that it's the old square style format and every channel was squished to fit its wide picture into the square screen. As with all my hotel reviews, I mention whether the TV allows for hooking up devices -- this one does not. You can hook up the device to it, there's HDMI ports accessible, but you cannot change the source. You can navigate to the correct input using the TV menu, but the "OK" or "Select" button on the remote did not respond. Something to be aware of if you're like me and use your streaming device to fall asleep.Overall, the room was nicely-adequate. Clean, for sure. And I'm sure when the rooms were last renovated, they were NICE! Hopefully, by the next time we visit the renovation will have been completed and these rooms will once again be outstanding. It has all of the necessary components needed to be a great room, just needs a little fixing up. I believe my rating of 3 out of 5 stars pretty accurate, but with some updates (and a microwave), see no reason this couldn't be a 5 star review next time.

Dirty, dated, uncomfortable, no seats in a room for 3 people, carpet was a disgrace & room smelled musty - service was awful too! Pool closed, plus looked extremely small - no changing facilities! Only selected bar at casino & restaurant open - they should either all be open or all be closed! I tried to withdraw cash at their ATM & had to go to cashier to ID - took over an hour to get MY money plus cost me &30! Pizza restaurant awful, no plates or cutlery, no table service - it's like getting a delivery but inside a restaurant at full restaurant prices!!
