Book A Room

For immediate release: April 21, 2016

Windsor, ON – To celebrate Earth Month, Caesars Windsor, in cooperation with Recycling Makes Cents, is offering a convenient and free E-Waste Collection public drop off site. The public is invited to drop off their unwanted electronics, big or small, in the gated parking lot located at 250 Windsor Ave., across from The Colosseum on Tuesday, April 26 and Wednesday, April 27 between 9:00 am – 6:00 pm. Vehicles can drive through, entering from the Chatham Street gate, just west of McDougall Ave. Walk-ups are also welcome.

Large bins provided by Recycling Makes Cents, a local community and industrial recycling centre, will accommodate any size electronic device including amplifiers, cameras, cell phones, computers, monitors, speakers, scanners, printers, tuners, televisions and more. These electronics will be recycled and diverted from landfills.

According to, operated by Ontario Electronic Stewardship, it is imperative to recycle electronics as 90% of e-waste’s component parts can be refurbished and reused, containing some of the most valuable elements mined and refined today including copper.

Also this month, with the largest employee Green Team, Caesars Windsor employees and their families will volunteer their time to plant trees at the Essex Region Conservation Authority’s Earth Day event on April 24.

Caesars Windsor is a proud participant in the Caesars Entertainment’s corporate wide commitment to environmental stewardship, CodeGreen. The property is dedicated to investing in sustainable practices to increase energy efficiency and water conservation, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote recycling and waste reduction. A few of Caesars Windsor’s efforts include:

  • 16,000 lighting fixtures were changed to LED, saving over 5 million KW/hr., per year. Nearly 14,000 fluorescent lamps were recycled, diverting over 6,000 lbs. of hazardous waste from landfills.
  • Participating in the Clean the World Program, a recycling program that takes used hotel soap, sanitizes and recycles it to make new soap for use in hygiene programs in Third World countries. In 2015, Caesars Windsor collected enough soap to make 6,915 bars of new soap.
  • Our four-diamond hotel is 4-Green Key certified from the world recognized Green Key Eco-Rating program. This certification is given to properties that are committed to protecting the environment by adopting environmentally conscious business practices.
