Colosseum shows to support annual Concerts for a CureBook A Room

Windsor, ON – Caesars Windsor is proud to announce this year’s beneficiaries for their fourth annual Concerts for a Cure campaign. This year’s local non-profit organizations are Pajama Angels and Windsor Cancer Research Group.
The Concerts for a Cure annual campaign runs throughout Breast and Prostate Cancer awareness months in which Caesars Windsor commits to donating $1 for every Colosseum ticket sold for an October or November show. Funds raised go towards selected local non-profit organizations whose primary goal is to raise cancer awareness through research, education, prevention or provide support and assistance to individuals and their families undergoing treatment. Since 2012, the campaign has raised $80,000 which has been donated to the Canadian Cancer Society, Hospice of Windsor, Transition to Betterness and In Honour of the Ones We Love.
Kevin Laforet, Regional President, Caesars Entertainment, said, “We are proud to support these local non-profit organizations that are making much needed contributions to our community.”
This year Caesars Windsor plans to work with Pajama Angels and the Windsor Cancer Research Group, both local organizations dedicated to providing assistance and comfort for those impacted by cancer, as well as support for research on new cancer treatments.
Pajama Angels is a grass roots non-profit dedicated to creating awareness, action and advocacy for all cancers and chronic diseases through integrative health initiatives. They take action by providing “Wing Power Fund” financial assistance to applicants affected by cancer. The Windsor Cancer Research Group an assembly of local researchers, healthcare professionals and community partners working together to build teams to strengthen our local cancer research programs and bridge collaborations with our neighbouring cancer centres.
“Pajama Angels is sincerely grateful for this most generous partnership with Caesars Windsor,” said Darlene Szecsei-Albano, President. “This support will provide funding for our Wing Power Fund that in turn provides relief from financial hardship for patients and their families impacted by a life-altering illness.”
“The Windsor Cancer Research Group appreciates the vital role Caesars Windsor plays in our community with this generous partnership,” said Lisa Porter, PhD, Translational Research Director WCRG. “This support helps us provide cutting edge equipment that can be used by a network of cancer researchers and clinicians throughout our city.”
Since the beginning, Caesars Windsor has proudly and actively supported the important work of cancer-related non-profit organizations and their programs focused on research, finding a cure, hospice and more through participation in fundraising events and volunteerism.
