For immediate release: July 21, 2017

Windsor, ONNeros Steakhouse continues to prove its place as one of Windsor’s top fine-dining restaurants, winning its 9th consecutive Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 2017. Awarded by one of the world’s leading voices on wine and wine culture, the Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants for their devotion to providing well-chosen, quality wines that appeal to every type of wine lover.

Neros is one of only two restaurants in the city to be recognized with this prestigious award. Featuring Windsor’s most extensive wine list, the award-winning venue offers guests nearly 300 selections from all of the top wine regions in the world, boasting a cellar with over 3,500 bottles. Whether you are a seasoned connoisseur or a budding wine enthusiast, there is bound to be a bottle to please your palate.

Renee Nantais, Neros’ in-house Sommelier, is one of only a handful certified experts in Windsor. Her passion and experience with wine lend themselves to an unforgettable dining experience for every guest. Nantais’ extensive knowledge has helped build Neros’ award-winning collection since she joined Caesars Windsor in 2015.

Nantais said, “A sommelier simply wants the best possible wine experience for the guest. They are quite knowledgeable of the many aspects of wine and can make suggestions based on taste preferences or menu selections. I regularly meet with agents and attend tastings, in order to compile a wine cellar that complements the cuisine at Neros and satisfies the tastes of every guest.”

“Guests who are comfortable with sharing their preferences and budget can benefit the most from having a sommelier available. Some guests also enjoy learning about what they are drinking. Other guests simply enjoy the benefit of proper wine service, including correct service temperature, use of appropriate tools, as well as the ability to recognize a flawed bottle. They haven’t made an app for that, yet.”

Neros Steakhouse is open at 5 pm Wednesday through Sunday. Complimentary valet is available to dining guests at the Riverside Entrance, just steps from the restaurant.
