Commitment to Excellence earns Caesars Windsor and The Colosseum Respected “Best Bar None Ontario” Accreditation 2018

Book A Room

For immediate release: August 13, 2018 Windsor, ON – Caesars Windsor and The Colosseum have proudly earned Best Bar None (BBN) Ontario Accreditation for meeting the highest standards for responsible service of alcohol and for operating with the safety and well-being of its patrons and the community in mind. The property and the entertainment theatre are two of only six Windsor-Essex establishments to have achieved the accreditation at the time of this announcement. All alcohol licensees are encouraged to participate in the program.

Tony Elenis, President and CEO of the Ontario Restaurant, Hotel and Motel Association (ORHMA) which leads BBN Ontario, said, “By pursuing and achieving accreditation, [Caesars Windsor is] showing [their] commitment to high operating standards and the pursuance of excellence in the food, beverage and entertainment industry.”

Best Bar None is a non-profit, industry-led annual accreditation and awards program that supports the ongoing education and training of liquor sales licensees. It is currently offered in Ontario and is available in Downtown Toronto, ByWard Market in Ottawa and now in Windsor.

The voluntary BBN accreditation process includes submitting an extensive application in which candidates answer questions about their best practices, employee training, policies, health and safety, programs and more. Once an establishment meets the minimum requirements at this stage, a visit is scheduled by a third party independent BBN assessor to ensure all the information needed has been provided in order to fully and fairly assess their application. ORHMA then vets the applications.

BBN Ontario accredited businesses maintain the highest standards for their customers and staff, manage the sale and service of alcohol responsibly and have good relationships with the community and hospitality industry partners. Accredited venues also compete with other establishments for annual awards to be announced at the 2018 BBN Ontario Awards Ceremony this fall.

Caesars Windsor’s responsible beverage service policies have been a mandatory part of employee training since the beginning, not only in the Food and Beverage department, but also include employees in Security, Hotel, Entertainment, Finance and more.

Joseph Moore, Director of Food and Beverage at Caesars Windsor said, “Achieving the Bar None Accreditation reinforces our dedication to providing responsible beverage service. It is also another formal acknowledgement that we are meeting and exceeding the industry’s best practices.”
