Windsor, ON – Caesars Windsor’s 2018 ‘Concerts for a Cure’ campaign is celebrating its sixth year with a new interactive fundraising effort that engages the community through social media while raising funds and awareness to support local cancer-related charities. Throughout October and November, Caesars Windsor is encouraging followers of the property’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages to like, share or comment on their posted #ConcertsforaCure “heart-hand” photos. For every social media engagement on these photos, Caesars Windsor Cares will donate $1 for each interaction, benefiting: Windsor-Essex Cancer Centre Foundation, In Honour of the Ones We Love, Transition to Betterness, Canadian Cancer Society (local chapter) and The Hospice of Windsor.

Kevin Laforet, Regional President, Caesars Entertainment, said, “We are proud of the ongoing success of the annual Concerts For a Cure campaign in raising over $100,000 in the past 5 years. Our community investment helps to provide much needed resources to our non-profit partners that improve the health of our community and help raise awareness.”

Since the beginning, Cares has donated over $8 million towards the fight against and prevention of cancer.

“Concerts for a Cure continues to be an excellent opportunity for Caesars to assist cancer charities in our community. These funds will help us with our Wheels of Hope transportation program. As a partner and recipient of Caesars Windsor Concerts for a Cure, we are creating a world where no Canadian fears cancer.” – Kelly O’Rourke, Community Fundraising Specialist, Canadian Cancer Society – Windsor Essex

“We are grateful to be able to work together once again and be a recipient of their generosity. Thank you for choosing to Give Where You Live and support T2B and our community through the power of music.” – Amber Hunter, Executive Director, Transition to Betterness

“Great partnerships are the engines that fuel In Honour Of the Ones We Love, Caesars Windsor is one of those strong community minded engines and because of them we continue to raise awareness and ensure our community has access to the best medical treatments with state of the art facilities specializing in enhancing patient care . This donation will enable us to replenish the Comfort Blankets at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare.” – Anita Imperioli, Founder, In Honour of the Ones We Love

“The Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation is thrilled to be one of the recipients of Concerts For A Cure. A portion of the proceeds from this fabulous initiative will support cancer awareness, research and treatment for men living in Windsor Essex through our Grow On Windsor Campaign. We pride ourselves in ensuring that every dollar raised stays right here in our community. Thanks to Caesars Windsor for continuing to support the community we live in by creating such impactful initiatives that inspire the community to give so generously.” – Houida Kassem, Executive Director, Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation

“The Hospice of Windsor & Essex County is grateful to Caesars Windsor to be chosen as one of this year’s recipients for the Concerts for a Cure. Caesars has been generous to our community since their inception. The proceeds will go directly towards the purchase of recliner lounge chairs for our Residential Home.” – Carol Derbyshire, Executive Director, The Hospice of Windsor
