CHEF'S FEATURE

Autumn is fast approaching and it’s the perfect season for warm ciders, apple picking with the family and heartwarming dishes to welcome the change of weather. This month, our talented culinary staff is pleased to bring you menu items inspired by the season. In September, we are featuring our fresh, succulent Seared Scallops served with delicious fall flavours and seasonings highlighted by creamy Butternut Squash Puree and a crisp Shaved Apple Salad. It’s the perfect, mouthwatering balance between sweet and salty as well as velvety and crunchy textures.

QUICK TIP

When cooking at home try and experiment with different types of oils. Most home cooks are familiar with Extra Virgin Olive oil, however there is an abundance of other flavourful and healthy oils including flaxseed and walnut, just to name a few. These oils supply nutrients like vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids and are a perfect pairing with salads and dressings. Each has a unique flavour and cooking traits that you’ll want to explore.

Torres ‘Floralis’ Moscatel Oro, Penedès, Spain $54. Bodegas Torres is Spain’s leading brand in wine. The family run company has the most extensive vineyards in the region of Penedès and the largest winery in Spain.

An often overlooked gem in Neros wine cellar, this dessert wine would make the ideal finish to a dinner enjoyed with friends-ideal for a party of six. As to be expected with Muscat this wine has an unmistakable floral bouquet with luscious sweet orange and mandarin on the palette with delicate clove spice on the finish.

QUICK TIP – WINE PAIRING

The rule for drinking wine with dessert is that it should be at least as sweet as the dessert or sweeter. Sip this golden elixir with our Neros Signature Dark Chocolate Mousse.

Rowena is one of the friendly and familiar faces greeting Neros guests for 9 years, an integral part of the award-winning restaurant’s team. Her favourite part of her job is meeting and interacting with guests from all walks of life, from different backgrounds and countries.

Over the years, she has developed her favourite Neros menu items, however on the top of her list is the fresh Atlantic Lobster Tail that can be its own dish or paired with a perfectly grilled steak. As a seafood lover, she not only enjoys a variety of fish and shellfish, she also loves preparing it for herself and her family.
