FROM THE CELLAR

Featuring recommendations by Renee Nantais, Neros’ Full time Certified Sommelier:

Lazzaroni Amaretto $8.75/1.5oz serving.

According to Saronno legend, the creation of Amaretto liqueur dates back to the 16th century when a beautiful, widowed innkeeper was introduced to a famous artist needing a model for the Madonna figure in his painting in the local church in this Northern Italian town. The widow fell madly in love with him and created the first Amaretto as a gift for her new lover.

QUICK TIP

The Lazzaroni family makes a unique Amaretto by infusing their popular amaretti biscuits in alcohol. The result is a delectable sipping experience, with enticing bitter almond cookie aromas. The palette is velvety smooth with lingering dried apricot, roasted almond, and warm spice flavours. It is perfect as an after dinner digestif, and makes a fine compliment to Neros Salted Almond Truffle Tart with Bourbon Caramel.
