Out of all the commemorative months that happen in a year, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an especially engaging time for the Caesars Entertainment community. From Battle of the Bras to Pink Pool Parties to an Employee Pink Hair Challenge, purposeful fun is had by all. This year, in an effort to increase awareness of the cause, teammates from across our properties joined together in a competition that resulted in $25,000 being donated to local American Cancer Society.
13 properties proudly participated in the cause competition, and the three properties with the most activity secured contributions from the Caesars Foundation.
In 1st place came Harrah’s Ak-Chin which received a $10,000 donation on its behalf in recognition of the significant media coverage of its activities and high team member participation. They achieved 22 media stories and promoted themselves through 1,106 media messages. The plethora of onsite activities led to almost 60 percent of the team joining in the festivities. Organizers emphasized good health messages along with the fun, with a property weekly wellness quiz and BCA fitness classes.
In second place came The Horseshoe Tunica and Tunica Roadhouse Region, which received an $8,000 donation on its behalf. Horseshoe Tunica and Tunica Roadhouse achieved a staggering 100 percent participation by offering almost 20 BCA-related events, including decorating doors and bras, a silent auction, and a survivor’s parade. Stories of the Tunica Region’s activities filled the news through 39 media articles.
Finally, the third place was awarded to The Atlantic City Region which received a $7,000 donation on its behalf. Fifteen percent of the region’s team members participated in their numerous Breast Cancer Awareness events. They made quite a presence at the “Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk” and decorated fabulous bras at its regional Battle of the Bras.
Congratulations to all of the properties and employees who participated in Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities and events.
