RenuOil credits Caesars Entertainment for paving path to success

Todd Sean House held many titles in his life. He was an assistant executive chef, an entrepreneur, a husband, and a father.

When he passed away, House left behind a legacy for his family to carry and grow, and with the help of Caesars Entertainment, they have realized his dream.RenuOil was founded by House in 2001. He was a chef in the hospitality industry for years, which included a role at Flamingo Las Vegas as an assistant executive chef. Then he ventured into entrepreneurship and discovered a way to filter cooking oil from hotel restaurants with a filtration machine.

“He started the business to clean and filter oil for our friers, and food and beverage needs,” said Gwen Migita, global head of social impact, equity and sustainability at Caesars Entertainment. Adding, the company is dedicated to helping diverse businesses such as RenuOil grow.

As House’s health ailed, he asked his children to carry on the business, Migita explained.

“Caesars Entertainment awarded us our first corporate recycling contract when we only had a handful of casino/hotel accounts,” said Sophia Del Pozo, chief marketing officer and general counsel for RenuOil. “We have this contract to this very day and are currently the largest on-site recycling company in Las Vegas.”

With the help of Caesars Entertainment, Renuoil received mentorship from Jessica Rosman, vice president of procurement at Caesars Entertainment. “Renuoil has grown from a company with a few employees to a few hundred,” said Migita.

RenuOil has expanded and works with other hospitality companies to manage waste through consultation, recycling dock management, recycling sorting, asset reclamation, cooking oil filtration and grease recovery.

“We branched out from recycling cooking oil to now servicing over 30 casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. Every day we operate in his memory,” said Del Pozo.

Del Pozo credits the growth of the company from the help of mentors such as Caesars Entertainment.

“Along this journey, we have been blessed with many mentors, opportunities, and relationships. We are grateful that Caesars Entertainment sees the value in supporting minority and women certified/diversified companies like ourselves,” said Del Pozo.

“This partnership with Caesars Entertainment paved the way for our success,” said Del Pozo.
