I have written several reviews of Flamingo in the past, things were good, then turned bad but now are completely on the upswing again! In full disclosure, we have a wonderful host, Alejandro, and are Seven Stars players with CET so we get nice rooms...even with all that, we had moved away from Flamingo because things a couple years ago had just hit rock bottom and have stayed there the last wontrips and things are showing progress! We checked in at the Diamond check in lounge which was super fast and easy. I will say, it’s a bit disappointing that the VIP check in has deteriorated over the years, back in the day light refreshments and even a cocktails might have been offered in VIP check in but no longer...this is CET overall, not just Flamingo. We were given a “Fab Suite” in the Habitat side of the towers. We have never stayed in one of these before and will just say WOW! The suite is a true one bedroom 1 and 1/2 bath suite. Main room had dining room table, two couches with large TV on the wall, and a pool table with wet bar and fridge. Decor was modern and chic and furniture was actually comfortable! Bedroom was very large, bathroom has separate shower stall and tub. We stayed in 28167...#Flamingo, you should check the fixtures you have on the tub...one evening when trying to fill the tub for a bath, the water pressure was very low, and because the faucet doesn’t clear the tub rim, more water splashed out on the floor and tub surround than in the tub...so no bath! The next morning the pressure was better, but still the faucet doesn’t clear the rim of the tub so there was still quite a bit of leakage...you may want to rethink the fixtures!Bed was super comfortable, pillows better than most trips to CET resorts, closet had plenty of hangars, and there was also a fridge in the bedroom! Best part was that they has updated furniture to include USB plugs and outlets on the bedside tables and the credenza in the bedroom....no worries for charging personal electronics!Elevators have been updated, we never had any issues like we had before! The Diamond lounge staff at Flamingo is absolutely the best in Las Vegas. Gwen at the front desk is super awesome offering help with dinner reservations etc. Doris and Diana as servers are really on top of their game...always making sure that we had what we needed long before we ran out. We didn’t eat either time we were there as we had dinner reservations.I will say that dining at Flamingo is not appealing for us....we have eaten at Center Cut, buffet, Carlos and Charlies and the food court before...they have never been satisfying or even appealing, and continue not to be...but, since Flamingo is center strip there are a plethora of other fantastic place within easy walking distance. We ate at Guy Fieri at The Linq which was excellent and we ate at Martorano at Paris which was also fantastic! The casino at Flamingo is getting better...slight remodel touches here n there have improved it...Lori, a server that works the small casino rooms off the lobby is fantastic...always on top of the clients needs...Love her! I will say, one thing that unfortunately has not improved is the bathroom situation in the main casino...it’s a single large bathroom that serves the entire casino...so inevitably it is never clean, very tight, and just not accessible when you are in the farther flung corners of the casino.Have always felt at home at Flamingo...not over the top fancy, great location and a staff that can’t be beat...I am looking forward to the progress on the remodel and hopefully some new dining options soon!
