My husband and i stay at harrahs whenever we are in AC. We prefer the table games there. I am a low roller and a gold caesars rewards member. But even with this status I always get comped for waterfront or bayview rooms. I understand a free room is not a guarantee but if you are given an option to check in online with a confirmation then complete it at the kiosk, one would think that youll get the room by doing so. Not in this case. We arrived at harrahs around 1230am. I already had checked-in online at 630pm and assume i will just pick up the keys at the kiosk as it was the instructions on the email. Kiosk prompt us to go to the desk. The girl at the front desk have mo idea what shes doing. She said she couldnt give me any room, she said checking in online only lets them know that we are coming, not really official. Doesnt really make sense. She went to the back and talked to someone then came back and called someone on the fone. She said they blocked off the waterfront and bayview rooms, so theres no availabile rooms for me. I was surprised! She then proceeded to book me and hand me the keys that said Marina. I asked her why did she book it without asking me first, she said to talk to her supervisor if i have any problem. I am not a person that complains a lot but at that time I felt that they just bait you with a room and and when youre there they just dont care. I took the marina room but didnt stay there its so dingy its not even worth $32 (resort fee). At check-out, they have the nerve to charge me $17 for upgrade standby which i didnt request. I had to question that coz a waterfron/batview room to a marina is definitely not an upgrade. I have to think twice now if i want to stay at harrahs next time. Costumer service went downhill!
