The resort is in the middle of nowhere next to farm fields to the south. It's the desert. There are going to be bugs. As long as they're not cockroaches, I'm not too concerned. Also, being next to farmland, on Sunday night around 7 PM, a lovely odor of fertilizer wafted over the resort. Luckily the pool was already fairly empty.Yes, there is no room service. Day to day maid service also seemed non-existent. I also never saw the valet open. I have no doubt these are all Covid related, in an attempt to minimize contact and the possible spread either from staff to you or vice versa. Welcome to the Post-2020 world. Such is life.I'm not a big slots player and the only 2 blackjack tables I saw were $25 & $50 a hand with only 1-2 people playing on Saturday night of Labor Day weekend. Judging by the pool crowd, it was the busiest day of the holiday weekend. But then, I was primarily there for a relaxing, getaway weekend which is why I booked a pool access room. Being able to walk out of my room, across a small patio area and directly onto the pool deck was awesome! I spent the majority of my stay by or in the pool. This brings me to the highlight of my stay, the pool bar & bartenders. Sam, Moses & Richard were awesome. As busy as they were (especially when 2 would go on break) they were rock stars. The only thing I would recommend to guests is that when the bartender says they're going on break, order 2 drinks at a time. It might be a bit before the bartender left behind gets back around! The drinks were quite tasty and not overpowering with alcohol, but they certainly got the job done!I look forward to coming back in the next couple of months for another getaway and to enjoy Sunday football at the pool bar!
