Harrah's AK-Chin Hotel And Casino

I have stayed here twice, most recently being in July 2021. Harrah's Ak-Chin makes for a quick and easy getaway from the Phoenix area. It's about 45-60mins from city center. If you go to the casino and gamble just a little bit, the offers will start coming monthly to you for free/discounted rooms.Also important to note that this property is on an Indian reservation, so they may have different mandates/rules in regards to Covid/masking than the surrounding state and cities. Don't like it? Wait and go some other time. Simple as that. The most recent room was very nice and clean. They offer fridges but no microwaves in the room. You will need to place a key card into the slot near the front door to turn on the lights in the room. Wi-fi is good. TV reception is good. Beds were clean and comfortable. Pool was great! Not crowded at all. Swim up bar and grill - you can charge it directly to your room. You do have to show wristbands to enter and sign-out towels as well. Staff was friendly. No complaints. We will be back!

The pool was disgusting. There were dead bugs EVERYWHERE as well as trash floating in the pool. I was there 8/1-8/5 and the pool only got worse as the days went by. I was told by 4 employees, 2 front desk, 1 pool server and the pool supervisor that “they’re doing all they can”. I travel often and there was so much more that could’ve been done. On top of the bugs, straws, cups and wrappers floating in the pool over the course of my stay, there were stains and bird poop all over the lounge chairs. There was also a dead bird on the last day we were out at the pool that wasn’t picked up our entire “pool day”. We went to the pool 8/1 & 8/2. I expressed my concerns on 8/2. I was told the pool gets cleaned at night and I was excited to enjoy a clean pool on 8/3. Well, it was not clean. In fact, it was worse. I was there by 8am and got in and turned right around and went to my room. I ended up leaving the resort that day to spend the day at a clean pool elsewhere. On the last pool day, 8/4, I had to sit in the “kid area” next to fountains where the water is constantly moving. I did end up having to remove a very large beetle with a cup so that I could sit and relax.When someone books a vacation to an area in which the weather is 100°+, you intend to spend the entire day at the pool. The casino, restaurants and rooms were excellent, I was so disappointed in the pool area.I will not be back here.

Had a very nice stay. Check-in and out was painless and easy. Other than the room being a little dark, lighting-wise, everything was excellent. Had meals in three different restaurants. The Chop Block and Brew was superior quality, but pricey. Agave was just as good, but more reasonable pricing. The food court, well, was a food court. I enjoyed it all. The pool bar was nice as well. Seemed to be family-friendly. The casino was fun but would return for the hotel.

This place is ghetto! The vibe is very weird. In the middle of nowhere! There’s only one bar.? One bar you have to wait in line for and they have no clue how to make a margarita! The food , not much to choose from. I went to agave at 9:30 on Saturday and they said we couldn’t get any food and it closes at 10 and you can’t get it to go. Doesn’t make sense. The cactus grill is open 24 hours and we ate there late and the fries were cold, they can touch the box the food it comes in but they can’t put it in a bag, they have to hand you the bag and you bag it yourself. They are so strict on masking! If we are vaccinated then what’s the problem? I was at the roulette machine and no one was even around me and they came and said to put mask on ! The air conditioner in the rooms shuts off every 4 hours so when you are asleep and it shuts off you have to get up and turn it on again! The pool area is not that big, and when you check in you get wrists band for oool area and if you loose it you don’t get another one, even if you prove you are staying at the hotel. I could seriously keep going.

We drove 8 almost due to seven stars promotion.. we are 3 seven stars status in our group. Our group was still playing in the casino since our seven star status allows us for late check out. We went to our rooms to find out that our luggages are being removed without our permissions and was never notified that we are being evicted. We asked the bell service why our luggages are being removed without our permission. He stated we don't have any late check out privileges and he was just doing what he was told. We all felt violated having our personal property taken away without our permissions. The custom service was non-existent and because of our horrible experience.. We will take our business elsewhere..
