We stayed Dec 1-3, 2021 for our anniversary. We had a king sized room. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was nice as well as the shower. The only drawback was that there is no microwave in the room. We ordered food from the restaurants in the casino and it would have been nice to have been able to warm it up and eat leftovers. The vending area has a snack machine and my husband got some chocolate donuts from there that were out of date and tasted awful. The casino was not as big as Harrahs in Cherokee but we play slots so it had what we wanted to play. They do have tables also with several games. This is a non-smoking casino. We also went to the bowling alley where there is an arcade and pool tables. Despite the drawbacks mentioned above, we had a great time and look forward to going back.
Casino staff leave a lot to be desired!

What has happened is unacceptable. Sorry for the long story. We visited on November 3, 2021. We had gambled a little while and needed more cash. Went to the casino cashier and asked for $1000. The gentleman working the cashier cage waited on us. He told us the fee would be $66. I had remembered being a diamond member that I would not pay that fee. He said if I had a check with my name on it that he could process it using my name. Well, I thought I had a bank check in our room and told him that we would go check and come back. He gave us a voided receipt and we left. Turns out I didn't have a check in the room so we just got money via ATM out of savings. Got home and saw that the echeck had cleared our bank for $1166. What is going on? We called Global payments which is the company that processes those echecks and they informed us that we did get the money. We said we did not and they told us to dispute it with our bank. We did that and got our money back through the bank. Well, Global payments started harassing us to get the money from us. We explained the situation and were told that the casino had a video of us getting the money. They suggested we go to the casino and ask about the video. We did that and the manager of security said he watched the video and saw HER count out 11 one hundred Dollar bills. Remember we only ask for $1000. We asked to see the video because it was not a woman that waited on us. He said the only way to see the video was with a subpoena. We talked with a VIP casino host and she suggested we talk with the cage manager. We proceeded to the cashier cage and asked for the manager. We spoke to Jim. He told us that the number on our voided receipt belonged to a woman. We told him that a man waited on us and he looked up the schedule for Nov. 3, 2021 and said there were no men on duty but then he said well I see there was a man there. He also informed us that the lady's till was not over for the day. Jim also informed us that there is no video because they don't keep them that long. Jim informed us to just dispute it with our bank which we had already have done. We came home and continued to get harassing phone calls from Global payments asking us if we had gone to the casino to see the video. We told them we did but there was no video. They proceeded to tell us that security says there is and that we were told by security that we were seen getting the money. We just got a threatening letter from Global payments saying that if we don't pay they are turning it over to a collection agency or an attorney. We are paying it because it would cost more to fight it. Oh, and by the way they say we owe $1259 now.

I was watching some friends play Ultimate Texas Hold-em and a player thought they were shorted on a win. They asked the "Pit Boss" if they would look at the video footage to confirm. The casino refused. I wouldn't have believed that if I hadn't been standing there watching. I questioned my friend about that, and others commented that the casino would only take action if the casino was shorted, not the player. If this is true, shame on Harrahs Cherokee. That is just wrong on so many levels.

Visited the Murphy, NC Harrah's Valley River Casino in early Dec 2021 and had a good time, it's was a short 2 hr scenic drive from Atlanta, the Food and Drinks were good, Staff there was Awesome and Friendly! They have most of the casino games as the other Big Brother property in Cherokee, they have a Sport Book (Can't bet on Horse-Races though), they do have BlackJack, Craps, Roulette, 3 card poker, Mississippi Stud, Baccarat, Ultimate hold-em, other card games, and Slot Machines Galore and also Video Poker!! The two negatives is this casino Doesn't have a Poker Room and Dosen't have Pai-Gow poker table here either, it's 2 card games I like a lot, but I will drive the extra hour (3 hrs from Atlanta) to the Big Brother Cherokee NC casino to play these. Harrhas Valley River Cherokee is good property that I do recommend in Murphy and I will be back!

We had a king size room on the corner of the building, making for excellent views with windows on two walls. Bed/pillows were comfortable and room was spacious. I enjoyed the shower wand in the shower. This is a feature I love that is rarely found in hotels. The Landing restaurant was tasty and accommodating to an odd menu request. Casino was clean and thankfully not too crowded. The only oddity I found was when my husband and I were at check-in. Because my husband's name was on the reservation the hotel asked him if I was allowed to have a key to the room. I guess they have some sketchy guests being that it is a casino hotel but never have I been anywhere where my hubby was asked if his own wife had his permission to access his room.
