Harrah's Cherokee Casinos Celebrate Opening of The BookBook A Room
Murphy, NC (March 18, 2021) - Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos is pleased to announce that guests can now wager on collegiate and professional sports, as well as off-track racing, at The Book sports books located in both Cherokee and Murphy, North Carolina.
Today’s grand opening celebration of The Book at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel included a ribbon cutting with remarks from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) Vice Chief Ensley, Tribal Council Chairman Adam Wachacha, and Lumpy Lambert, Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel General Manager. Following the ribbon cutting was a ceremonial first bet placed by guest Coach Frank Patton.
The Book at Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos will be the first of their kind in the state of North Carolina and will be integrated with Caesars Entertainment’s sportsbooks nation-wide. The menu and odds, as well as The Book itself, will be similar to what guests would find in Las Vegas.
"Any time we can add a new amenity at Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos it means a great deal to us as we know it will equally serve our Tribe and our guests," said Ensley. "I would like to thank the team members of Harrah's Cherokee Casinos for making this day possible. We've created a Vegas-style atmosphere at The Book for our guests to enjoy, so we’re happy that today they can now fully experience it."
Echoing Ensley's remarks, Wachacha stated, "The Book is a wonderful new opportunity that will be beneficial to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians as well as guests of Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River. This new venue will open up a world of new betting opportunities and entertainment for guests."
In partnership with Caesars Entertainment and William Hill, the world’s preeminent sports betting company, The Book will offer an expansive wagering menu on all the games, including the popular betting options of LIVE InPlay wagering, futures wagering, proposition wagers and Parlay Cards.
“The Book represents our commitment to continued growth,” said Lambert. “We are thrilled to be able to offer this new amenity to sports fans, especially on the opening day of the NCAA basketball tournament. We know our guests will thoroughly enjoy The Book and the diverse betting experience it will provide.”
The Book at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel features a 32-foot, ultra-high-definition screen for viewing with plush reclining chairs and full beverage service. An additional lounge area can also be reserved for private viewing parties. Four ticket-writer windows and five self-service kiosks are available for guests to place bets.
