Our room was incredibly dusty (especially around and behind bathroom mirror) and dated. Everything looked like it was original to the property. We stayed with a nice discount but can agree we’d not ever elect to stay there and pay full price for what it is. We’ve stayed at Caesar’s in Vegas and this place is nowhere near as well kept. On the plus side it was convenient to the casino.

I have enjoyed Harrah's Cherokee Resort and Casino since they opened more than 20 years ago. I am a Seven Star Player, so I do go frequently to casinos. But with asthma, I wasn't going to Cherokee much the last few years because smokers would still smoke in the designated nonsmoking area, which was small and overcrowded to begin with. I chose instead to go to properties that were non-smoking.I am thrilled that Harrah's Cherokee is NONSMOKING!!! It definitely hasn't affected business. The casino is still bustling. I'm happy that the employees do not have to endure the harmful secondhand smoke either! I will now return to play and stay as often as possible. We stayed in the newly remodeled Mountain Tower rooms. They are clean and beautiful! Food options are all very good. One can dine in or carry out and eat in their room or on a bench along the lovely creek, if they like. (Outside picnic tables would make it even better.)I highly recommend Harrah's Cherokee Hotel and Casino for a wonderful getaway!

My husband and I just returned from an overnight trip to Harrahs Cherokee. Check in was quick and easy and the VIP area was extremely nice. My request of Creek Tower and a high floor close to the elevator was no problem at all. The room was clean and orderly. We spent the afternoon site seeing in the town, dinner at Ruth's Chris in the hotel, and the evening in the casino. Sorry smokers, but the temporary ban on smoking made our trip SO MUCH BETTER! I normally take a shower after being on the casino floor every time I go to the room. I did not have to do this 3 different times because of the smoking ban. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE KEEP THE NO SMOKING EXCEPT IN DESIGNATED AREAS. With the crowd it is clearly not slowing business and its not killing us either. The walking areas outside the hotel are beautiful, especially in the spring. We are looking forward to returning in the summer when the pool is open.

I recently visited Harrah's Cherokee for the first time in several months since the pandemic began. My room, 1100, was in the newly renovated Mountain Tower. The renovations are very nice, larger than Creek Tower, and the color scheme is very calming. These rooms will be a stellar once the microwave and coffee maker are returned post-pandemic. Another nice touch is that basic internet is now free and the hi-speed is cheaper than the old internet service! The only suggestion for the room is that the shower floor should be texturized, because once soap hits it, the floor becomes very slippery. The only other detractor is that my room was next to the service area, which meant I heard doors slamming. As for COVID protocols, there was the standard temperature check upon entering the hotel and lots of disinfecting of the check-in counter in the lobby, and hand sanitizer being distributed. Check in took some time, but the staff were very good and my room was ready before 4 p.m. The casino was very crowded, very little social distancing was observed. Machines were taken out of service, but many in service had people sitting side by side. It was nice that no smoking was permitted. I think this helped with masking. I didn't see any cleaning of machines, but I had my own Lysol wipes. Selu Gardens was open for dinner which was nice. All staff were very pleasant. The menu had enough options to please most people. I had the blackend salmon, a small center portion was delivered. Unfortunately I had to return it because it was raw. I received in its place a thin tail piece which was cooked through. It had no flavor. With it I had brussel sprouts which were very good and french onion soup that was oddly sweet, had rosemary and boursin coated crostini. It was a combination that did not work. The price was reasonable its just that the food was a miss that night.
Great casino and staff!
