Room was good, the slots as usual not so much. Honestly not sure why I keep coming back cause I leave regretting it every time. I would prefer more free play as rewards over hotel stays as I think it's ridiculous to give $50 for a deposit for EVERY night that I stay when it's the same room for the length of the stay. The only good thing about that is I know I'm leaving with that amount of money as the gaming floor has left me feeling like the unwanted step child of the family. Haha I kid I kid but the thing experience has been awful there.

Love this Hotel but our room 1109 had no heat. My husband is a heating/air tech and said all it was doing was blowing cold air. We finally just turned it off for the night but it go pretty chilly...More

Harrah's Council Bluffs looks a little run-down from the outside. The interior is adequate, but it's a fairly small casino. Some of the restaurants and amenities were closed due to COVID restrictions. They did have quite a few slot machines and most of the expected table games, but many of the tables were closed due to small numbers of guests. There was consistently one craps table open. The hotel room was decent. There was no housekeeping due to COVID restrictions but dirty linens could be left in the hallway to be replaced. It was a $20 upgrade to a room with a view of Omaha over the Missouri River. The room also overlooked the Stir Cove concert area. Of course it hasn't been used in 2020, but looked like a fun place when it's open. There was also no valet parking due to COVID. Overall, it's a small mid-west casino. It's definitely not a Vegas type with many amenities, stores, etc. We also visited the Horseshoe and Ameristar in Council Bluffs and both seemed to have better casinos.

This is supposed to be a pet friendly property. We called Harrah's DIRECTLY to verify the policy. We were told, " no problem, we allow pets " and then the agent offered to book the stay. The lowest rate they could give us was $60 per night higher than a third party and could not meet the rate so we declined and said we would call the 3rd party. Upon arrival I registered and mentioned we had our dog with us. We were informed that there was an additional $40 fee for pets. I of course explained our experience and was told "we cannot help you, you used a 3rd party". Of course, I explained it was Harrah's directly who explained the policy and then was told "you must have been sent to central reservations; they don't know anything". You can imagine my response to that. I was given a run around all evening while excuses about pulling the call recording, blah blah.. (this was a supervisor). The next morning I spoke with the front desk again and was told that they would remove the charge. Wonderful! I was satisfied and thanked them; until I checked my card statement. Not only did they not remove the charge, they CHARGED ME TWICE!
