There is no more important figure to the emo-rock boom of the 2000s than Chris Carrabba. The man might have a band behind him, but he is Dashboard Confessional. Look no further than his legendary performance on "MTV Unplugged" to see his effect on his audience. The collective crowd not only sang along with every song, but had no control of their emotions, often weeping as Carrabba pulled their heartstrings all night long.
"Screaming Infidelities" is the song that most endures (It also won the MTV 2 Award at the "MTV Music Video Awards."), but songs like "Vindicated" and "Don’t Wait" still resonate with fans of all ages.
The All-American Rejects also dip their toes into the world of emo rock, but play straightforward power pop as well. The four-piece band, which formed in Oklahoma, hit it big with single "Swing, Swing" and have sold upwards of 10 million albums worldwide.
Get your tissues ready. Sing in your loudest voice. And join Dashboard Confessional and The All-American Rejects as they take over the Stir Cove at Harrah’s Council Bluffs on July 22.
