Empty tables everywhere but no help! At least too, some maintenance work and cleaning work is going on. For some time we thought this was was going to be closing as it was and still is so run down!
Too many issues!

1. They advertised daily room service and skipped over my room. We asked for some supplies (toilet paper, towels and coffee). We asked 3 times for the coffee and never received. 2. There was a very small grill with limited seating. We had to leave early because there was a long wait for breakfast. The steakhouse was apparently limited hours and seating, but the elevator didn't go to the 12th floor and we were not notified how to access this option, and it was only open after 5 pm.3. The room smelled like it was dirty. The beds were comfortable butt the room smelled bad.4. There was only one desk employee for the entire hotel. It took forever to get anyone on the phone and there was very limited response. The excuse for this was that people don't want to work, but there were plenty of employees in the casino.5. No valet parking6. Overpriced for what we got. No better than a Quality in ($89), charged us $1507. The charging was very confusing. The website said, "starts at $89," then the lowest price was $177. On my credit card they charged me for a deposit that was never explained, then there were two different room rates for one stay. 8. There was apparently a manager standing by that didn't help with answering phones or dealing with customers,etc.9. Customer service at this hotel was the worst I have ever seen. No one was ugly or mean, they just weren't there. You can't charge for a full-service hotel when there are no services and all the venues are closed, like bars and restaurants and helpers.10. THE REFRIGERATOR was off. We brought food back to the hotel and it went bad after not knowing that it was off. This ruined about $20 of food and juice. We should have been notified that it was off or it should have been on when a guest is staying there.
Needs a little TLC but not a bad place to sleep

Hotel- my room was clean and comfortable. Check in was easy and very friendly staff. Pet friendly. Access to riverfront walk great place to walk dogs. Casino- smallest casino floor I've ever seen. Way too smoky. Need to get better filters or some sort of fan system. Kind of shocked allowing smoking in the covid era. No true sportsbook. A person is only available on the weekends. Otherwise kiosk betting only. No great area to watch the games. Tag is the bar closest to the kiosk. Speaking of Tag... GREAT customer service by the bartenders!
Awesome time!!

On my way through Council Bluffs today with my 20 yr old son, we decided to stop to eat and spend sometime at the slot machines. We stopped first at the horseshoe location and we noticed 21yr age limit. I asked the security if my son could join me and he explained the rule perfectly. By the way in MN and WI, age is 18. He then told us that Harrahs across the interstate we could get in, as it was designed specifically for families. Very nice person fyi. We then left and proceeded to Harrahs and that's when it went down hill. We walked in and saw same 21 age limit. I walked up to the bald security guard and told him of the conversation I had at the other location and he rudely interrupted me and said not his problem. I then said that maybe since they are all same employer, that it would be nice to let all the security know all the rules. He replied not my responsibility and you can leave. If that was my employee, he would be fired asap. As I left I said thanks for the help and he came back with "step back up here if you want to go". REALLY, that is the type of people meeting your guests. I have been there many time before when I built the Golden corral in town and didn't remember sign as I never had a minor, 20 yrs old, with and now I never will be back.Thank my friend for great memories.
