The front desk staff on the afternoon of June 23 was horrific. The rooms were not ready at check in and their position was unprofessional. They stated all of the people waiting in the lobby needed to wait until they were clean. Of course they told you this after they took the money. The grill served great food and the employees were fantastic

I had expected much better customer service when booking my stay at Harrah's Council Bluffs. Did not see anyone that worked there actually interested in my stay at their property. When I went to check in although three ladies were visiting at the front desk it was tough to get them to acknowledge me standing there. Had to move from the first room they assigned as it was not clean. Desk acted totally put out that I did not like the white stains on the bed skirt and dark stains on sheets. Very little was open during the week for food items and the Backstage grill did have friendly employees thank goodness they were the only friendly people working on property. Upon check out no one even inquired as to how our stay was. All she asked was "did I want a receipt". All things considered will NOT stay here again.

We only stayed one night, yes it was a Friday and a last minute decision to stay here, as we usually stay at the Ameristar as our normal stop through IOWA. I booked the room against my better judgement, as I never pay that much for a room. Not even in Vegas. We were on the 11th floor. The view was great. Room was fine, no complaints. It was clean. Room was quiet. I have slept on better beds. We didnt get a chance to explore hotel. Wish there was better food options, Stir Cove Backstage Grill was pretty good food. Had supper and breakfast there, but only due to a lack of options. Staff was great. Plus they have a wonderful dessert case. Yummy! Casino was good. It allowed us to win enough to play for most of the night. It had some newer machines that we had not played before. Would stay at this hotel/casino again, as we travel through IOWA several times a year, but I WILL NOT pay $200 plus for a room at this hotel again. Way over priced, even for a Friday night.

We have been long time customers since this property opened as Harvey’s in 1996. After the merger with Caesar’s years ago, the quality remained. But now— after a buyout from El Dorado, it is clear the new management does not care about customers AT ALL. Rooms are tired and dirty. Bathroom floors with hair and dust, mold in the tub/shower. Badly in need of new mattresses, carpet, etc. Restaurants are either closed or short staffed, but regardless of that fact, you cannot use your comped meals for takeout. Which makes no sense given the fact that they don’t have the staff to serve customers in the actual restaurant. For years, we would use our monthly food comps to take meals up to our room. No more… Even if you are a guest at the hotel, you cannot use your food comp coupons for takeout. Utterly ridiculous! I have seen nothing but reductions in service and comps since this takeover. In spite of being long time Diamond plus member, my husband and I have decided it’s time to find a new casino home. Sad…
