Harrah’s Kansas City Hotel and Casino

Welcome to Harrah’s...NOT. The moment you step up to the front desk Harrah’s makes you feel like a second class citizen. Oh the desk clerk is friendly as she greets you and yes your room is ready, but it will cost you $15 to check in now, or you can wait a few hours and check in then for free. “But you said the room was ready?” “Yes it is but you can’t have it yet because you don’t belong to our top tier clubs.” Let’s see I’m paying full boat retail for the room, the bar, the restaurants and I’ll probably drop some money at the craps table, but you feel it’s necessary to slap me across the face as I arrive? Well this will never happen again. There is a simple solution to recognizing the elite (and not just the shorter line), simply guarantee them an early check in and only allow the rest of us one if it’s available. If the hotel is a third full like tonight be happy we’re here. There is no good reason to hold us up or turn us away.Hello MGM.

I have stayed in other Harrahs casino but nothing prepared me for this place. We flew in for the weekend. There were over 70 of the floor machines were out of order. The ones that were working wore nasty. I didnt even want to touch them. Pop spilled on them and ashes everywhere. Frustrated went to room to take a shower and had to let the hot water run 10 min. to just get a warm. Not hot shower. Very disappointed

I should have looked at the reviews before we stayed here but we have always had a nice stay at the many different Caesars locations The rooms are outdated and hairdryer didn’t work asked for replacement and was never done Maintenance person knocked on our door at 4am claiming we called to have our door fixed scared us terrible bad didn’t sleep rest of the night The Casino was also just ok It was not cleaned/sanitized regularly during the day or night Casino doesn’t open till 8amFood lack of was disappointing and not paying $75 for a steak Did complain about some of the issues and none of the staff cared one guy said good don’t come back don’t care

I will be checking more closely the rating for a hotel before booking. This place is in need of cleaning and care. The whole place is dated and not clean. The staff was less than helpful. I needed feather free bedding and was first told there “were no feathers”. When I found feathers and asked for foam, I was told “we only have feathers”. The options for dining were limited especially for breakfast. There was a steakhouse and seafood offering but then just a cafe, no sit-down restaurant. I expect at least clean from Harrahs. Sorry I stopped here.

What fun I had winning over $10,000 just when I was $3500 down I learned about the high limit room where you can bet on a dollar machine all the way up to $100 machine. I chose the five dollar machines and that $10-$25. The hotel was great food was good just a general atmosphere is fun and the people are fantastic. Just got home flying back next month :-) the VBL
