It will be a homecoming of sorts when Story of the Year takes the stage at the Voodoo Lounge at Harrah’s North Kansas City. No, the post-hardcore quartet aren’t Kansas City natives, but they do come from Missouri’s’ other biggest city, St. Louis, so KC is a de facto home away from home.
The pop punk foursome took off with debut album “Page Avenue” which featured breakthrough singles “Until the Day I Die” and “Anthem of Our Dying Day.” The album holds such a place in the hearts of fans that in 2013, the band re-recorded it with new takes on the original tracks.
After a couple of years working on projects away from the group, Dan Marsala, Ryan Phillips, Josh Wills and Phillip Sneed have reunited to bring their post-hardcore sound back to their devotees. The band is currently working on a new album so they will be ready to give attendees both new thrills and old on November 18 at Harrah’s North Kansas City.
