My room in the Marti Gras tower was pretty disappointing. No desk (there was a small table), no drinking cups in the room (the second day I got two paper cups), very slow drain in the tub/shower (standing in water up to my ankles by the end of a shower and would not drain at all after bath). I was also unable to use the pool because it doesn't open until 9:00, and closes at 6:00, and during the hours of operation it's so hot that you can't stay outside the water more than a few minutes and there is no shade except for cabanas that you have to pay extra for. Health club didn't open until 7:00, and then was crazy crowded immediately, with several out of order machines in the very small space (for a hotel with that many rooms, you need more than two working treadmills in the gym). Overall, casino was fine and location is great -- and price was fine -- but the room and the services I was paying my "resort fee" for were not optimal.
Other than the location, everything else was a massive disappointment

Massive queues, and inadequate counters. The self check in kiosks don't work very well, we saw a lot of people struggling. The location is good, but that's about it. I would avoid going back and would not recommend this hotel. Probably one of the worst I have stayed in.
Great experience!

Just got back from a fun stay at Harrah’s in Las Vegas. Overall it was a great place. We stayed in the Valley tower. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked that you have to scan your key card in the elevator in order for it to go to your floor. As two women traveling together, this made us feel a little more secure. There were only 2 minor issues that we encountered that didn’t earn a 5 star review. 1-As soon as we walked into the main entrance we were offered a free chocolate bar and a free lotion sample. Unsuspecting of any ulterior motive, we were somehow duped into going into the small retail shop right by the entrance. There we had “eye cream” slathered onto our faces by someone claiming to be an esthetician...but not a salesperson so she said. She proceeded to try every tactic in the book to attempt to sell us said cream for the low price of $299 saying it was a discount because it normally sells for $999. And that it’s made from stem cells therefore in penetrates into all 3 layers of the skin. We suspected that it was hemmeroid cream and after a good 20 minutes of her not taking “no” for an answer we finally had to be abrupt and tell her we were leaving and not interested. Let me be clear that these people do not work for Harrah’s so I don’t directly blame the hotel. I just feel the need to point out that we avoided that area like the plague for the rest of our stay. These people are scammers and could be a deterrent to people that are just trying to enjoy their vacation. Issue 2- Checkout. We had to leave the hotel at 2:30 am to get to the airport since we had an early flight. I got a text that I could checkout online and not have to go to the desk. Well, I tried to and there was a message that said the website was down for maintenance. So I tried the electronic kiosk by the front desk. That said I couldn’t checkout until 7am. So I had to stand in line where there were only 2 people working and they were waiting on all the platinum and diamond people first. Thankfully this didn’t cause me to miss my shuttle to the airport...but it almost did. So, overall it was a great stay. Harrah’s is very centrally located on the strip so you can walk in one direction or the other and get to a lot of the other casinos. There is also plenty to do in Harrah’s as well if you don’t want to go anywhere. Just watch out for the lotion scammers and give yourself plenty of time to checkout if you have a flight to catch!
