Was traveling with extended family and excited to check out some casinos away from our usual Vegas ventures. Drove in on scenic Hwy 40. Arrived early at this oasis in the sun and impressed with hospitality from everyone here. My two rooms weren't ready until 4pm which was the guaranteed time. Able to leave luggage with bell desk who delivered it to our third room which was ready ahead of time. We had booked south tower because this was newly renovated and it did look nice. Rooms were generally clean minus smudges on all the chrome details(overall good). Nicely cooled shielding us from the 107 scorcher outside. Shower has the new fangled half glass door newly popular as a cost savings measure and surprisingly it did hold in most of the water. Beds were very confortable and TV nice and big. Appreciated outlets on bedside table which is often overlooked with cost-savings renovations. Headboard was backlit which gave the room a posh feel. Thought we would be able to get adjoining rooms but didn't because newer rooms aren't configured to be. Older rooms may be able to connect. Hotel boasts only beach access on the Laughlin strip and it makes a huge difference when traveling with kids. It not only has a beach area which has palapas scattered throughout for those willing to pay for their shade but if you are budget-minded there are grassy areas where you can throw down a towel and lounge not far from the water. The swimming area is good-sized so even though it had tons of people swimming about in the 60 degree water , I didn't feel crowded. The water taxi has a stop here and will take you to the other casinos for $5 a ride or $20 for the whole day. Mind you, last ride is at 10:40 on a Saturday night. The beach area hosts a tribute band on Saturday nights; we enjoyed Evil Way's show (Santana tribute band). Really appreciated the small gym outside the adult pool(yay). Family didn't enjoy the family pool because it wasn't as well overseen and had children swimming in regular diapers, tangles of hair floating about and toenail clippings evident in pool. Yuck! Enjoyed swimming in the river much more. Spotted large fish passing through swim area. Decided to splurge on a jet ski rental of $89/hour with two hour min rental. Worth it! As we headed out of town we spotted a $99 all day jet ski promo near the Colorado Belle. Much cheaper but really enjoyed having everything accessible on Harrah's beach. Casino has tons of new and classic slots and plenty of tables. Just know that some minimums were raised on Saturday night; although, I did enjoy playing blackjack at a $5 min table for a bit. Nobody in my party won big but we were given some time to play and didn't get immediately mugged by the one armed bandit as often happens elsewhere. I was able to enjoy my $60 donation all weekend long. Waitresses came around plenty and the pina colada I had Saturday night was incredible. We ate at the buffett which was $13 for breakfast,$28 for a Friday night seafood buffett, and $19.99 for Father's Day Sunday Brunch. Everyone enjoyed the food and service was terrific. If you aren't up to a buffett, other choices are available: Smashburger, Starbucks, yogurt stand, cafe (pizza not so good). We also enjoyed $10 per room discount on our meal which is offered if you forgo housekeeping during your stay. We enjoyed our discount and room was still tidied. Overall, wonderful experience.
