My husband and I were comped at Harrah's NOLA for four nights. Rooms are dated but clean. Bring your own pillow ( we ran to WalMart and picked up 2) because what they call pillows are hard and as flat as a pancake. Now to the casino. TIGHTEST Caesars property anywhere!!! If you're lucky enough to get a free games don't expect to get anything out of them. My husband had to play $25 blackjack because that was all they had available. When he asked why so high he was told because they had no competition. Talk about not caring about your patrons. The gentleman sitting next to my husband set down his wallet to buy chips and some loser grabbed it right off the table and ran off with it. Seriously lacking in security! Do yourself a favor and stay at a hotel in the French Market area if you visit NOLA and if you get the urge to gamble do a day trip to Gulfport. Better gambling and a much nicer atmosphere!

Harrah's on Poydras St New Orleans - paid nearly $1200 and they offered no housekeeping - had to beg and plead and wait several hours for toilet paper; had to change our own sheets (which they gave us dirty sheets first then brought clean ironed sheets); they would not clean the shower for handicapped person who was subject to falling-I even offered to clean it myself but they would only spray a mold cleaner on it for me); no one in housekeeping/bell/room service answers to phone and if transferred there from operator they just hang up. If you go to front desk for these things they tell you to call from the room. There is no in and out privileges for parking structure for guests - that racked up the bill faster. While it is supposed to be non-smoking facility we could clearly smell cigarettes in hallways and in the floor of the elevator. This was the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel.

I am a Caesar’s diamond member and I tried to get a room for Labor Day weekend. I wanted to arrive on September 3rd because my son, who had graduated from Tulane, died while serving in the Peace Corps in 2006, and September 3rd is the anniversary of his death. NOLA always makes me feel closer to him because we have such great memories there, and I thought it would be ideal to spend that awful anniversary there to feel his spirit and hopefully some peace. In addition, I play a lot and have never had trouble getting a room at any casino anywhere ever. Even though it is three months out, they refused to give me one room that weekend due to the LSU football game. Dana in the host department was amazing and tried to get me a room even with the LSU game, but the hotel said no. I had booked my flights because it didn’t even occur to me 3 months in advance and with my play level that I’d be unable to get a room for September. So much for that. I will never stay at Harrah’s in NOLA again. They put football fans, most of whom probably don’t even play, ahead of someone who plays/is Diamond level, and who wants to be there that specific day due to my connection with NOLA through my son and it being the anniversary of his death.
Very Disappointing

Once upon a time, this casino was special. It was full of iconic New Orleans sights and sounds. There were Mardi Gras scenes, alligators and beads everywhere. There were places to get traditional New Orleans food. Musicians would weave through the casino in a second line playing jazz. That ain't der no more!!! There are few new slots and overall it was a great place to get cool on a hot summer afternoon and find a bathroom, but this casino could be anywhere. What a shame to lose the character and uniqueness of America's most unique city!
