Do you remember the days when Harold's Club was the largest casino in the world and Bill Harrah was trying to build up competition. A smart player could get a good gamble. Don't count on this anymore. Cal Neva, Silver Legacy, and Eldorado still offer good games, but not Harrah's. True, the Reno Harrah's is better than their midwest donkey pits, but that's about it. The buffet looks like something from poverty flat, and isn't even as nice as Bonanza or other "local" casinos, and costs over twice as much. I wouldn't bother, but if you are a diamond, take their room offer, then gamble elsewhere. The gaming here is pretty lousy compared to Atlantis, Eldorado, Silver Legacy, Peppermill, etc. Heck, even the Sands has some better games than Harrah's.

You might have to search a bit for the type of slot machines you enjoy playing as they had updated a good number of their slot machines.

This was my 9th year attending the Reno Air Races. We have stayed at Harrah’s all nine years. Our group of friends tend to stay at Caesar’s properties. We gamble and generally the rooms are comped. This is the only reason we stay at this property. The property has not been updated in many years. The rooms are relatively clean but completely worn out. Most the the furniture appears to come from the 70’s. The casino is quite sad. 9 years ago there were a lot of machines to choose from, not now. It’s such a shame. Just down the street the Eldorado and Silver Legacy appear to be alive and well. Harrah’s is the dance of the dead. So sad.

I would recommend staying in the East tower. This was our first time staying in the West tower, and we were not impressed at all.
