I appreciate the efforts of the staff and management team for complying with all local and state regulations for keeping everyone safe. My biggest complaint is that the casino caters to smokers and offers no relief for non smokers. 70% of those in casino are smoking wearing no mask. Non smokers wearing mask and unable to breath due to the overwhelming amount of smoke. The non smoking section no longer exists due to the reduced number of machines available. Due to occupancy limitations it was very difficult to get food, minimum 2 hr wait for breakfast and dinner.

This was my first stay at Harrah's SoCal. The service everywhere on the property was so much better than I expected! Front desk, security, pool servers, bartenders, etc. were helpful and friendly. We were able to check in before noon and choose a room close to the pool. In the span of 10 minutes at the pool, a server took our order, another employee offered us waters, and another employee offered to pick up any empty cups or trash. This made an impression because a lot of recently reopened businesses are understaffed - Harrah's is an exception. I appreciate the modifications made due to COVID, including 21+ up only, no smoking in the casino (though smoking in the pool is still permitted), and limited capacity to the pool area. There were hand sanitizing stations all over. Employees politely reminded guests to wear their masks if they attempted to enter the property or approach a bar without. Overall, I felt comfortable, safe, and like a valued guest. I'm looking forward to returning.

It's difficult to know where to begin when you have such a poor experience at a new place. My girlfriend and I joined another couple on a last minute weekend trip (2 nights) to Harrah's because the place we WANTED to go to had been closed by San Diego because of Covid concerns. I called Harrah's myself and asked if they were open, to which the gentleman on the phone emphatically said 'YES.. we are on federal land, and are open.' The four of us got very excited.GF and I have never been there, but our friends had been there quite a few times. We are not big gamblers, and at this point you might be thinking "why go to a casino then?".. We were most excited about the lazy river and pools that were there because they looked amazing, were advertised as open and we had packed for a water filled weekend before our other place fell through. At no time on the phone were we told that the pool, lazy river, swim up bars and basically entire outdoor area was closed. We paid FULL PRICE for 2 rooms to be able to stay for the weekend, enjoy the casino, some dining and POOL ACTIVITIES.We drove an hour and a half.. arrived in our rooms.. and the room that our friends got was completely dysfunctional. The lights didn't work in half the room and when they tried to turn other ones on, the entire room went dark as if a breaker had been tripped. They called downstairs to get someone to come up to fix it and they were told, "Wait in the room until the maintenance guy arrives."Meanwhile in OUR room:1. The TV is dismal at best. I could watch better quality and better content on my phone.. granted, a hotel TV isn't why you choose to stay in a hotel, but they advertise it on their website when booking a room immediately after the bed. If you're going to advertise a bed, that is nice, and then advertise a TV, that is absolute trash.. you might want to upgrade your TV's.2. The door handle that closes the separated toilet room was installed backward. It blows my mind when I see stuff like this because it's SO EASY to fix. The latch bolt is backward, so it just slams against the door jam. Any professional woodworker, remodeler, or hardware installer would have seen this and immediately fixed it. NOT HARRAH'S!!3. Don't bother with the internet.. We connected to it and it was slower than molasses flowing uphill in winter. What's the point of free wifi if it reminds me of dialup 56k modem days?My friends had the room directly next to us, so we could open up the two rooms to conjoin them and.. 2 hours later.. nobody had arrived to fix their light problem. It took FOUR HOURS for someone to come fix their light problem. Reminds me of the cable guy.We all finally decide to leave the room to have some fun in the casino...The casino was decent, not any better or worse than a standard Vegas casino. My girlfriend and I had dinner at Fiore. That place deserves it's own fantastic review because it was the highlight of our trip. Eat there, but stay somewhere else. The next day we go downstairs and find out the entire outdoor area, lazy river and pool are closed. The whole reason we came there. At this point the two of us are thinking, why did we pay regular price for a room, to just gamble and give them more money? We decide we want to leave and try to get a discount or refund on the second night, to which we were told "Too bad, we can't do anything and we're not going to do anything."No discount, no refund, no coupon for a future visit, no 'one free pull on a rigged slot machine'.. nothing. She and I spent the rest of our time in our hotel room just screwing around and making the best of being held hostage, or for ransom, for the evening. SUPER fun way to spend 200 dollars plus resort fee plus tax. We tried again when checking out to get SOMETHING for our terrible visit. Ashley, the front clerk, asked Marta, the manager and...Nothing.I could have gotten a room at a beach, same price, with the ocean.Funner, CA is kinda lame...

Our first outing since the pandemic and unfortunately was a total fail. Booked 2 days at the casino, gambled all night ate at multiple restaurants and a had a descent time the first day. The second day we had a big plan to hang at the pool and relax. We showed up and it was at capacity bc of social distancing limits. No big deal, 15 min wait.. but we decided to get a cabana so we got in right away. $135 later, we get in and it’s all down hill from there. We hung out at the cabana waiting for a server they said was coming, 30 minutes later still nobody. We flagged down our server Zara and said she would be there in 5 mins... crickets. We go to the bar, Zara sees us and apologizes profusely and says she or Jaime will be over and will give us some “free stuff” chips and salsa. 🙄 We walk over to the swim up bar and it’s at capacity. The security explains that as long as people get out you can get in. So we wait, he walks away. We watch two people get out, my sister and I get in. My husband waits, then as another lady gets out my husband gets in. Within 5 minutes the security comes over and says we need to get out. We told him 3 people got out and he argued we “snuck” in and were being rude. We got out and asked for the cabana to be refunded as we still had not been served. Talked to multiple managers and all they did was apologize. Looks like we are going to pechanga from here on out. We have been here so long the slot attendants know us, but I refuse to be treated so rudely with poor customer service. Ps. Pool is dirty also, straws and cigarettes floating. See photo
