I took my 26 year old son and his girlfriend to Lake Tahoe in July and we stayed at Harrah's for 4 nights. We knew to expect some changes as we were traveling during the Covid pandemic. Although we did experience some changes from previous trips there, we had a wonderful time!!!The VIP check-in was closed but the employees at the main check-in desk were very friendly and helpful! The hotel and casino staff seem to promote social distancing and we heard several casino employees asking guests to wear their masks. We were sad that the Diamond Lounges were closed and also the Forest Buffet due to Covid but we look forward to those opening hopefully soon!We had a delicious dinner at their Fridays Steakhouse with a wonderful sunset window view and the waitstaff was great!!There was no housekeeping services, but again we know that is what is to be expected as almost all hotels are eliminating housekeeping during the Covid. But you can always call the front desk and get clean towels or anything you need. We had GREAT service on the casino floor and casino cage from 2 gals; "Joshua and Sandra"!! Both of these gals provided outstanding service. And slots manager "Dave F" was very friendly and helpful as well!! Also my host "Jim K" was very kind, accommodating and helpful as always!! These employees are true gems and a real feather in Harrah's hat!!For side trips we went on the Gondola ride at Heavenly Valley, a 5 minute walk from Harrah's and also we went on "Tahoe Tastings" (a wine and cheese 2 hour boat ride around the lake!) The marina is not close enough to walk to but you can uber there. I highly recommend both of these activities while you stay at Harrah's!!Remember as you travel to be flexible (especially during Covid), and you will have a great time! We will most definitely return to Lake Tahoe Harrah's!
Very disappointed in my last visit

I came to Lake Tahoe with a friend and we booked a room at Harrahs. Just not what it used to be. Our first impression with the front desk clerk was not good. She needs some hospitality classes. Not friendly, and yes I admit my friend was not the happiest, but this was her chance to shine which she failed at. Masks are required everywhere public, except if you are a smoker. The cigar and cigarette smoke by the elevators was horrible. I know it is Covid, but I was looking for a little distraction. I felt like Harrahs is old and tired, and the most of the employees feel the same. I have to admit the room was nice, but no glasses. They could have at least got the wrapped Plastic cups. Forget housekeeping or room service. I will never go back.

Stayed for 5 days and it is a great location to Heavenly Village and lots of restaurants and shopping. It is located right on Stateline Rd do can cross over to CA. Walk .9 miles down that same road and you are at the beach. There’s also a stage park with hiking trails behind the hotel that goes through both states. It is very smokey inside! You can’t wash it away since it’s in the hotel areas. Walk down to Hard Rock Casino where no smoking is permitted if want smoke free gambling. It’s not that far of a walk at all and worth it to avoid the smoke. Harrahs really needs to be more health conscious as far as smoking is concerned. They were great with protocols for Covid. Lots of wiling down of surfaces and sanitation stations. They did limit elevators to 4 people which resulted in waiting for 4 or more elevators to open only to be full. We stayed on 6th floor so took stairs twice. Disaster. Many of the final doors were alarmed. Ended up in a pitch black conference center trying to fell out way through with the dim lights of the exit signs. Once out of that maze, the escalator to the 1st floor was broke. Ended up still having to wait for the elevators! It was a debacle. The rooms are nice. No refrigerators or ice available due to Covid. Also no housekeeping available. Comfortable bed and great views.

My wife and I decided to brave the COVID-19 pandemic and go to Lake Tahoe for a couple of days to relax. Once we arrived the area was packed on a Monday!!! This is what happens when you give people more money NOT to work and stay home than to get off your asses and put on masks 😷 and go back to work where they’re supposed to be!!! But Lake Tahoe was beautiful as always 😊
A big disappointment

All I can say is we did NOT feel safe here during the pandemic. Security doesn't seem to enforce wearing face masks since I saw plenty of people without or with them half on their faces. No enforcement on the elevators to the rooms. People try to crowd the elevators and also without masks. Room floors, guests are walking around without masks. Housekeeping is non responsive to requests for water glasses sent to the room. Rooms are without shower caps, coffee pots, refrigerators or water glasses. At least they could provide plastic cups for water. There was an ice bucket but what good is ice if you don't have any glasses! I could go on regarding the tons of misinformation we received during our stay. It's apparent the employees are not well informed and the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I've been a loyal guest for over 40 years and I'm now rethinking our options.
