Bad experience from start to finish at a high level casino property

We checked in late evening on a Tuesday after a long drive from the Bay area. First, no bathrooms close by . We were directed into the casino where my wife wife had to go down some stairs...long...More

We checked in late evening on a Tuesday after a long drive from the Bay area. First, no bathrooms close by . We were directed into the casino where my wife wife had to go down some stairs...long walk. back and forth. Then we dealt with a Hotel receptionist with a bad attitude. She did not have on record my discount and free play offers. She seemed a bit rude, with just wanting to go thru the check in process. She seemed frustrated because I wanted to see if she could locate my hotel offers, She didnt find them (My offers) and said look for a Casino Host. She couldve said, that there was NO HOSTS available during the weekdays. To save me the trouble for looking for one. So we ended up paying over $160 for an average room that I usually get for free from other Casino properties. We wanted to stay inside the casino after our 5 hour drive. So we wanted to take advantage of casino eateries but the food Court was closed after 11pm....so no food for us, at that point for over 13 hrs. So then would have to wait till the next morning to eat a meal. We decided to play slots. Tight slots and little selection on table games. I ended up losing over $600 in less than 1 hour on slots and $400 on blackjack. $1000 dollars in 2 hrs. I looked for a Harrahs Host, cashier receptionist "said no hosts on check back at 8 am" I looked for a casino host. The Hotel clerk said there is the HOST office off to the side a sign said, "Host only available on the Weekend. We decided to go to the hotel room and sleep it off. So the next morning, we ate breakfast at Harrah's, American River cafe. The service from the waitress was good but said an off handed comment about NO FREE coffee. The busser was another story. I asked for more water, he comes back drops off a pitcher that was wet and splatters all over my clothes. A little pricey breakfast for $60. I'll add late evening and morning Harrahs staff just missed the meeting on customer service. When we asked for floor help....all me and my wife got "WAS hold on, let me take care of this" We decided to play slots. Tight slots and little selection on table games. I ended up losing over $600 in less than 1 hour on slots and $400 on blackjack. LOSE $1000 dollars in 2 hrs. Needless to say that was it, we paid for the room and left.

The lake was fantastic, though we could not get near it as there were many people. I won a random Major Jackpot. The food was also very good. Loved our stay.
July stay was very disappointing.

We have enjoyed all of our stays at Harrahs Tahoe until this last visit. It seemed that there was not enough staff since relaxed Covid restrictions were authorized and there were more guests. PreviousIy l felt very safe with the social distancing precautions that were in effect. This visit was disappointing. I did not feel safe gambling. Social distancing precautions were removed. There was no hand sanitizer in any of the dispensers that l tried. Check out was awful! The mobile application did not work and l was waiting for over 10 minutes to check out at the front desk. Three people were taking care of one guest and another was on the phone. I was still waiting to be served when my husband came to find me after already receiving the car from the valet and having all luggage stowed. I was still not able to check out. l went to the concierge to get a comment card. I was told that there were none and that my folio would provide a comment card. I was unable to check out so where was my folio? The concierge person was not polite nor helpful. Disappointing.

If you want to eat at the Steakhouse be sure that you make reservations way ahead. The food at Friday.s was great and service could not have been better.
