Rock legend Lenny Kravitz shows us it ain’t over ‘til it’s over: See him rock the stage at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena this July.
His signature retro style combines rock, blues, soul, psychedelic rock, jazz and funk. In addition to singing lead and backing vocals, he also plays all of his own instruments including guitar, drums and keyboard.
His sound is a combination of his unique musical tastes. The Native New Yorker grew up listening to R&B, jazz and soul music. When the family moved to Los Angeles, he fell in love with rock ‘n’ roll. His music influences include The Jackson 5, The Isley Brothers, James Brown, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and Pink Floyd, to name a few.
He released his debut album, “Let Love Rule” in 1989. The album was a smash hit in the UK. He later established a following in the U.S., winning the Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance four consecutive years from 1999 to 2002.
Smash hits include “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over,” “Are You Gonna Go My Way,” “Fly Away,” “American Woman” and “I Belong To You.” Kravitz has 10 studio albums to date, with an 11th album releasing in 2017.
Kravitz also dabbled in acting, with notable roles in “Precious,” “The Hunger Games” and “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”
