Our Mission Statement: Harrah’s and Horseshoe team members are committed to their community by serving as positive role models, improving the quality of life, and enriching relationships through their volunteerism and charitable giving in accordance with Caesars Code of Commitment.
Under the local auspices of Caesars Entertainment Reaching Out (H.E.R.O.), the company’s community volunteer corps, Harrah’s and Horseshoe employees again rolled up their sleeves and did a great deal of heavy lifting on behalf of community organizations.
During 2006 alone, Harrah’s and Horseshoe employees volunteered 2,600 hours to HERO-related events, including the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk, the Sam Marvin Golf Outing which benefits the Southwest Senior Center, and the American Heart Association Walk.
The housekeeping department served as ambassadors to the American Red Cross by assisting with the donation of used linens, and many employees participated in life-saving blood drives. Harrah’s and Horseshoe team members also supported their local service men and women by serving lunch to over 15,000 Offutt Air Force Base family members. And employees lent their support to the Council Bluffs community by helping with the distribution of trees through the Trees Forever organization.
Total amount of charitable donations to Iowa organizations 2006: $142,755.
