I love the Horseshoe in Hammond! I pretty much love all the Caesar's/Harrah's properties I've been to, but this place is special! I haven't been for a while due to COVID-19 and was reluctant to come because I was scared of being indoors with so many people and also because the poker room isn't open during the pandemic, but am I glad I made the trip!! They have a bunch of new slots and the action was fantastic!! I even hit a jackpot. I've had such a great time, I have been back a few times since Christmas. They aren't allowing smoking on the casino floor, which I know will appeal to a lot of people. I do smoke, but didn't find it to be a problem as there are designated smoking areas. Even though I smoke, I have to say, it did make it seem healthier without all the smoke. Also, the screening process as you go in and the fact that everyone is wearing their masks (and there are plenty of employees on the floor making sure everyone is safe) really made me feel at ease. I probably felt safer here than at most gas stations, retail stores or other public places where wearing the mask is not enforced. But the main thing is the games!! The excitement is still here and all the new games are fantastic. The promotions are great for being part of their rewards club and there's no better time to go and work on that diamond status!!! The perks really are worth it!! And did I mention I hit a jackpot?! I saw a lot of people winning, so I know it wasn't just me :)Go - have a great time and maybe even win some money!!!
Terribly over priced

They charged me $6.42 for 2 12 ounce cans of Pepsi at 360 pizza. Pop is usually free but because of Covid the pop machines are shut off. Really bogus in my opinion.More

Casino floor is BIG (for Chicago area) and spread out with lots of space. It's showing signs of wear and tear, a little dingy in some areas, but growing old gracefully and overall it's fairly clean and comfortable. Restrooms seem to receive proper frequent attention. Smoking and non-smoking areas are adjacent and not enclosed so there's little relief if you can't stand smoke. Maybe it's Covid, but there are no drink servers here, strictly get-your-own alcohol at the main bar or several smaller outposts (+ free attended pop, water, coffee stations), I don't drink so I can't comment on pricing. Main buffet is closed due to the times, but I ate there a couple years ago and it was pretty good tho not spectacular. Pizza, burger, gelato places on casino floor looked immaculate and inviting but I haven't tried any of them.I play slots. There are zillions of slots of all styles, many pretty new and many aisles of ancient well broken-in reel machines. I think I found a consistently generous one because in about a dozen visits I have won on that machine every single time - often matching my comped slot play! Left most times with $200+ without spending a dime of my own money. Many other machines are terrible or have very volatile hot/cold streaks. Comps were extremely good for awhile so I returned weekly or more for a couple months, otherwise a bit too far for me from NW Chgo subs and that $11.20 RT Skyway bridge toll is annoying as hell. Good luck!
