I was on a junket. Based on casino play I mistakenly expected VIP treatment. Casino is a nice size, limited Video Poker machines, but plenty of tables and slots. Room not as requested. Requested NONSMOKING, NON PET Friendly, (dog/cat allergy/asthma) close to elevator. I was on the 2nd floor which meant lots of walking from elevator, had to pass the conference rooms, the outdoor pool, etc. The room was large and nicely appointed but the adjoining room had smokers and a very noisy yappy dog. It was quite cold, but the only way to help reduce the smoke smell was to crank up the window HVAC to full fan AC. Sleep eluded me 1st night. Visited front desk early, explained reason for requesting room change. She said I was in a non-smoking room, I saw no signs on 2nd floor to indicate non-smoking anywhere. They said ok to a room change, between 2-4 pm, they would text me when ready. After a few more requests after 5 pm, finally got a new room after 7 pm. It was same floor other side, all the way down the hall, again, far from elevator with a lock that needed jiggling to close (missing a screw) and a crack on top portion of tub ,I moved all my stuff, and had a quiet night. Same exact room layout - moved from 2181 to 2104 - no views at all in these rooms. Next day 3 dogs checked in across the hall! Large quiet German Shepherd and 2 yappy dogs in adjoining rooms. The next 2 nights I hardly slept again. The hallways are dirty, carpets desperately need vacuuming and shampooing, room service trays left out for hours. What do you expect with a hallway full of dogs - walking past many rooms triggered barking. I think this is horrible! Even with my allergy meds, I coughed til it hurt! I realized I'm on a junket, complaining will not work. The casino is very smoky, there are no non-smoking areas that I noticed. The buffet was good. Crab legs, Prime Rib, and many choices of southern comfort food. The staff in the casino and the buffet were all very polite and helpful. AC Burger is right on the casino floor near the video poker and sports betting. It's cafeteria style, you order, get a number and they call when your food is ready, seating is basically gated off from casino, so you have the smoke there too. All the food was very good, you can watch as they cook on the grill, ate there 3 times. It was busy and it was interesting to see how all the workers seemed cross-trained in each other's duties - so they were very efficient! I checked the Laurel Lounge to see if there was food, but it was a very small place for drinks and a few snacks only, so I skipped it.The lobby is very nice, there is a large Starbucks, and an essentials store and a couple kiosks. The staff here are all very gracious and appreciated the business. This could be a much nicer place if they limited dogs to legit service animals only and there were some non smoking areas or better ventilation. If you have allergies and or asthma - stay away!
