Tips For A Fun And Safe New Year's Eve

Follow these tips to ensure you have a fun and safe New Year's Eve in Las Vegas.

  • Road Closures: The Las Vegas Strip (between Russell Road and Sahara Avenue) will be closed to vehicle traffic from 6 p.m. Dec. 31, 2018, through 6 a.m. Jan. 1, 2019.  During that time, no strollers, carts, backpacks, purses larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, glass containers, coolers and ice chests will be allowed.
  • Stay warm and comfortable: If you are walking the Strip, wear comfortable shoes and dress warmly. Las Vegas may be in the desert, but the low temperature for New Year's Eve is expected to be around 31 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Getting in and out of your hotel: During the celebrations, some hotels limit access to their properties to guests only. Check with your hotel about wristbands or needing hotel keys for re-entering the property between 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Where to recover:  After an amazing New Year's Eve, you may need some place to recover on New Year's Day. Book your New Year's day brunch (complete with Blood Mary) or spa treatment early. And don't forget to check on the New Year's Day football games in the race and sports books
