From Flamingos To Flair Bartending, The Top 5 Stops

From “high rolling” to watching flamingos get fed, there are plenty of local attractions to suit every interest. Better yet, use this guide as a checklist and try to fit in this entire variety of things to do in your next Vegas getaway.

For The Whole Family: Bowling And The High Roller At The LINQ

View Into A High Roller Cabin During The Day Time Looking Out Onto The Las Vegas Strip

As Las Vegas’ most stand-out new attraction, The LINQ is the only open-air shopping, dining and entertainment district in the heart of the Strip. Its crown jewel is the 550-foot High Roller, the largest observation wheel in the world. The best part about The LINQ is the never-ending list of things to do. Take the whole family and spend an entire day and night there, knocking down pins at Brooklyn Bowl, lunching at Flour & Barley and grabbing cupcakes al fresco at Sprinkles. Don’t forget to ride the wheel, too. (Tip: dusk is the best time to ride.)

Adventure Junkies: VooDoo Zipline At Rio

The long-awaited VooDoo Zipline opened in May 2014 and offers an exciting ride with a prime view. The ziplines are connected between Rio Las Vegas Hotel’s two towers, so thrill seekers get the adrenaline rush of riding in open-air seats nearly 500 feet up and traveling at moderate speed—all while looking at the Strip.

Nature Lover: Flamingo’s Wildlife Habitat

Unlike most major cities, Las Vegas doesn’t boast a sprawling zoo. But Flamingo Hotel’s Wildlife Habitat is an idyllic respite from the hustle and bustle. Towering palm trees, grassy knolls and waterfalls set the scene as Chilean flamingos, ducks, exotic birds, fish and even pelicans swim and play among the grounds. It’s not only a free attraction that’s open daily, but features two times per day where onlookers can watch staff feed and care for the animals.

Family-Friendly: Fall Of Atlantis And Aquarium

The whimsical Fall of Atlantis show is a welcome break from the shop-’til-you-drop fervor at The Forum Shops inside Caesars Palace Las Vegas. Revamped in spring of 2014, the 11-minute animatronic show uses statues, booming sound, fire and lighting effects to tell the ancient Atlantis-based tale of King Atlas and his feuding children. Check out the 50,000 gallon saltwater aquarium right next to it. Double photo op!

The Nightlifer: Carnaval Court And Margaritaville

Want to add a little flair to your Las Vegas night out? Both Carnaval Court at Harrah’s and Margaritaville at Flamingo feature flair bartending shows, live music nightly and plenty of free ambient entertainment that kick it up a notch. Depending on the time of day, both bars can range from rowdy to chill, so there’s something for everyone. Conveniently, both are located a short walk away from each other—with The LINQ sandwiched in between, if you're looking to mix up the night even more.
