U.S. Privacy Policy Updates (August 1 and August 10, 2018)

1. Why are you making changes to the Privacy Policy?

Our Privacy Policy was last updated in 2015.  We wanted to update the Privacy Policy to provide more information about the data we may collect when you use our websites, mobile applications or services at our U.S. properties, and how we may use that information.  We also updated our Privacy Policy to address changes in the law, like the new General Data Protection Regulation that you may have heard about.

2. Do I need to do anything?

No, but if you do not agree to anything in the revised Privacy Policy, you should not use  any of our U.S. websites, or mobile applications that display this Privacy Policy (including www.caesars.com, www.totalrewards.com or the play by Total Rewards mobile application),  or use any services at our U.S. properties after August 1, 2018.

3. Are you significantly changing the way you collect and use my information?

We are not significantly changing the way we are collecting and using your information.  Many of the changes are intended to clarify or reorganize sections that were already included in the prior Privacy Policy or provide more detail about the types of information that we may collect and use now or in the future.

4. Is this going to affect the status of my Total Rewards membership or any benefits I’m going to receive?

No, these changes will not impact your status as a Total Rewards® member, your Tier level, or any benefits you are entitled to as a Total Rewards member.    

5. Explain what the most significant changes mean for me and my use of your websites, mobile applications and services at your U.S. properties.

Here are some of the key things we have updated in the new Privacy Policy to reflect how Caesars may collect and use your information now or in the future:

  • We have provided additional information about third party analytics services that we may use.  These services may collect information about the content you view on our websites, the websites you visit prior to or after visiting our website, your computer system and geographic information.  We use this information primarily to analyze our customers’ use of our websites.
  • We have provided additional information about the data we may collect when you use one of the Caesars mobile applications, like the play by Total Rewards® app.  If you install and use one of our mobile applications, we may collect information about your mobile device, including technical information that allows us to support our mobile applications.  Depending on the location settings you select for your mobile device and the Caesars mobile app, we may be able to automatically identify and collect the location of your device, including GPS location, which is the real-time geographic location of your mobile device.  If you have authorized the collection of your device location, we may use this information to send you real-time offers for nearby Caesars outlets and to tailor your marketing offers to your specific interests.  You may choose not to share your location details with us by adjusting or turning off your mobile device’s location services settings; however, by doing so, you may not be able to use certain features provided through the mobile applications, like wayfinding services.
  • We have provided additional information about online advertising programs.  We and third-party advertising services may use cookies, web beacons and other similar technologies that may enable these services to track your actions across different websites that you visit after visiting a Caesars website.
  • We have provided additional information about the surveillance technologies that we may use at our properties, including facial recognition technologies.
  • We have provided additional information about the data we may collect from your mobile device when you visit a Caesars property.  If you have a mobile device while visiting a Caesars property, we may be able to collect information about the device, including the device ID and the precise physical location of your device within and around the Caesars properties. We may use this data for analytics and non-marketing related purposes, such as enabling us to understand our guests’ preferences and use of our properties, including general traffic patterns. With your consent, we might also use this data for marketing purposes, such as to provide you with real-time offers and personalized promotions.  If you do not want information concerning your precise location to be collected while visiting a Caesars property, you can adjust the settings in your mobile device to disable WiFi and Bluetooth.
  • We have provided additional information about the data we may collect when you use WiFi services at a Caesars property. When you use WiFi that is made available at a Caesars property, we may be able to collect information about your use of the WiFi services, including information about the websites you visit, your precise physical location and your device identification number.
  • We have implemented a new process for making changes to the Privacy Policy.  If we make significant changes to the Privacy Policy, we will notify you in advance.  This is intended to help you by providing you with time to review the new Privacy Policy and ensure you are comfortable with any changes.
  • August 10, 2018 update:  We have updated the Privacy Policy to describe how we may use your personal information to perform background checks, including investigations into your identity, credit checks or inquiries into your personal history.

These are the updates that are most likely to impact your use of the Caesars websites, mobile applications and services at U.S. properties; however, we encourage you to review the new Privacy Policy in its entirety to make sure you understand how we collect and use your information.

6.  Does this Privacy Policy cover the websites, mobile applications or services of your international properties?

No, this Privacy Policy only applies to our U.S. properties, websites and mobile applications.  Visit https://www.caesars.com/caesars-windsor/privacy for the Privacy Policy of Caesars Windsor and https://www.caesars.co.uk/privacy-policy/ for the Privacy Policy of our UK, Egypt and South African properties.

7.  I don’t want to receive any marketing communications from your U.S. properties.  What do I have to do?

If you receive email communications from us and would prefer not to receive further email communications from us, you may always click on the link found on the bottom of all our email communications and follow the instructions to either change your email preferences or unsubscribe from all emails.

If you are a Total Rewards member, you can also unsubscribe from receiving email and/or direct mail communications from us at any Total Rewards Center at any Caesars-affiliated property or by calling 1-877-716-4500, or you can manage your communication preferences in your online Total Rewards account.

Regardless of your decision to unsubscribe from receiving email or direct mail communications from us, we may still contact you to respond to an inquiry we receive from you or for transactional purposes (e.g., reservation confirmations, reminder notices and account maintenance).

8.  I don’t want my personal information shared with your marketing partners.  What do I have to do?

If you are a Total Rewards member and prefer that we not share your personal information with our marketing partners, you can update your sharing preferences in the Profile section of your online Total Rewards account at www.totalrewards.com.

If you are not a Total Rewards customer or if you prefer to opt out of data sharing by mail, please print the form available here, complete it and mail it to:

Opting out by following the instructions above will not prevent your personal information from being shared with our affiliates for any purpose or used for other non-marketing purposes, subject to applicable law.
