My wife and I regularly stay at Rio. It’s so easy to get in and out of. There rooms are spacious. VooDoo lounge is a fun place to eat and hang out in the evening. However, this last stay might have ruined everything that we always loved about it. I checked-in around 9:00pm and immediately upon walking into my room, saw that there was trash on the floor. Should have been a sign of how things were going to go from there but I picked up the trash, threw it away and thought that would be the end of it. We had been checked into a smoking room, however there wasn’t a single ashtray in the room. I guess they wanted us to use the drinking glasses for ashtrays instead. Again, not worth my time to call guest services. I’ll manage and find a way to make do. However, after my wife and I got back to the room from dinner for drinks at VooDoo lounge, we came back to the worst surprise I have ever seen at a Las Vegas hotel; VERY DIRTY SHEETS!!! We turned the bed down as we were starting to get into bed and noticed TONS of black smears and marks all over the sheets. Almost as if housekeeping just made the bed from the previous guest instead of changing out all the linens entirely. We were not about to look passed that shortfall. I called the front desk and asked to speak to a manager. A man named Isaiah answered and told me that the only thing he could do was to tell me that he’s sorry. I told him that sorry meant nothing to my wife and I and that we expect clean sheets when checking into an all suite hotel & casino resort. My wife had already decided she was not going to sleep in the bed and that she was going to go somewhere else. I asked Isaiah if there was anything that could be done regarding there shortfall to a Diamond Reward member guest with no history of complaints. Isaiah told me that because the room had already been checked in for 6 hours, he would not do anything at all for my inconveniences. I asked him if I’m supposed to check the sheets and turn the bed down immediately upon entering the room and he just laughed at me, and repeated that nothing would be done regarding their shortfall. I told him to check me out immediately because neither my wife or I was going to stay in that room for another minute. Rio really screwed up on this stay and takes zero accountability for dropping the ball. Needless to say, my wife and I had our last meal, night out and stay at the Rio. Isaiah was the most unaccommodating manger I have ever spoken to. Managers are supposed to solve issues, not do absolutely nothing when a guest has one. It would have been just as useful talking to a valet attendant about the nature of my stay. Wish you the best of luck Rio. We won’t be back.
