I advise against this hotel
I booked on line for a King room and paid the deposit. Like most Vegas hotels they charge a resort fee; in this case 39.68 per night regardless of your usage of the Gym or other facilities. They all...More

A lot of issues with billing and room charges
The final bill was very wrong. Front desk person at VIP services was very rude and was laughing at us trying to get the issues resolved - very unprofessional and he should be fired. Now I would have...More

I booked on line for a King room and paid the deposit. Like most Vegas hotels they charge a resort fee; in this case 39.68 per night regardless of your usage of the Gym or other facilities. They all do it for "marketing reasons". I arrived to find that you are not "reserving" a room type, only that you will get "a" room. Could be a "Pet Friendly" room or anything else they want to give you (according to the manager Dorris). Needless to say, they were "out" of the room type I reserved and gave me what they had. The room they gave me was in poor shape. Badly stained carpets, loose plumbing, and, be careful, shower water temperature control is backward so don't get burned. The day after checkout, I check my credit card bill and see $32.88, $89.68, $89.68, and $39.68 holds. That amounts to $251.92 hold for a one night stay. Upon inquiring, the managers response was "don't worry, they will all come off eventually". I would hate to know what they would hold if you stayed a week. If you have a choice, I would stay elsewhere.

My wife and I got married in Las Vegas 25 years ago and stayed at the Rio. Rooms were beautiful and staff was friendly and helpful. On our 20th anniversary we renewed our vows and stayed again at the Rio to celebrate. We had a wonderful room and again the staff were wonderful. This last weekend we came back for our 25th anniversary to the Rio. When we opened the door to our room it smelled musty and was dirty. The furniture looked like it was 25 years old and was worn out and pillows were sagging. The carpet was damp, like it had been recently shampooed. Nothing like it was five years ago. My wife was very upset, so I went to the front desk to ask for another room. She rudely tells me that there is nothing she can do for me but could have someone dry the carpet if we wanted them to. I tried to explain that this was our wedding anniversary and we had stayed here when we were married 25 years ago and really wanted this to be special. She was rude and unhelpful. I almost checked out right then but my wife said let’s make the best of it so we did. I have no idea what happened to the Rio and it’s management but someone should do something to help in that department. Rude front desk, dirty outdated rooms, musty and smelly carpets. I loved to stay at the Rio. I won’t ever again! They even charged us for early check in. They took my money and it definitely wasn’t worth what I paid. Shame on the Rio!

The final bill was very wrong. Front desk person at VIP services was very rude and was laughing at us trying to get the issues resolved - very unprofessional and he should be fired. Now I would have to waste another day trying to correct the charges. We were over-charged by over $300 on a $200 total bill!!!

It did not get off to great start,- the Room was very rundown, furniture chiped in multiple areas on all pieces - Sofa cushions flat, thread bare with use-carpet soiledThe front desk moved us to a better Room, which was fine.It took 3 trips to the service desk to get keys that opened the rooms doors. We were directed to use the kiosks in the lobby to replace the Keyes. It did not work so we ended up back in line for Keyes.I arrived 11:30. and discovered only 3 lunch option, with only one offering a full meal. Everything else was closed until 4pm.Day two we went to use the Gym, and given a difficult time to just see the facilities. I took this up with both the Front Desk and Spa Managers. The Spa ManagerJennesa, corrected the issue and provides free one day passes for the Brithday party. I felt she listen and understood my concerns.Day 3 we have power pump and the elavator was down for about 6-7mintues. No one told us what happened until we got down to the lobby. And we had to ask.We where made aware that the hotel was going though a buy out. The customer should not feel that transition. I will wait to see whatchanges the new company will put in place before rebooking at the Rio.
