This hotel is in major disrepair. It was recently sold and all maintenance and upkeep is being deferred until the new owners take over in 2 years. Service was dreadful, and most restaurants and services were closed. They even closed the pool mid-week in warm weather. They promised low rates and then over charged me. The hallways reeked of pot and you could see grease marks on the headboard in my room, which was filthy. They advertise a room rate of $29 but they would have to pay me more than that to stay there again. I have been going to this hotel for 30 years on an annual trip, but will never, ever, go to the Rio again

Do not stay at the Rio. You will be happier in almost any other hotel in Vegas. The rooms are big but old and in need to complete renovation. The casino is a decent size but very few newer games, the poker room is closed, and the cashout machines do not provide coins (you have to go to the one open cage, never staffed with more than 2 people, to get full change). They charge a resort fee but are quick to point out that the pools and spa, which are closed half the week, are not part of the fee (clearly they don’t grasp what a resort actually is). Less than half the restaurants are open. There is a small Starbucks that is open in the morning but it is not full service and you can count on waiting 20+ minutes (there is a large Starbucks but it wasn’t open). And that is assuming you can actually get checked in (there was a 2 hour line on Sunday stretching through the casino). It feels like they are milking every last penny they can from their soon to be former customers before they implode and start over. Go anywhere else. Please.

Let's face it, this property will be closed in the next year and its maintenance and staff reflect it. Property is old, most food places are closed or have limited hours and difficult to get anything to eat certain hours of the day. Besides that, since Eldorado has taken over Caesar's properties, staff levels and services is on the decline. If you are coming to Vegas, stay at the MGM properties, The Venetian or the Wynn.Just stay away from all Caesar's owned properties.

After reading the reviews ahead of time, we did not expect much. We were with a tour group and had no choice of where to stay. Check-in for us was easy and we paid the $15 extra to check-in early. The room was large, but very dated and in need of repairs. Hotel part is still nice, but many of the stores and restaurants were closed, I am assuming do to Covid and also hard to find workers. Very noisy at night, and when we awoke in the morning, there was NO water! Couldn't flush the toilet or shower. There was a small trickle of cold water coming from the sink, so we were able to brush our teeth and take a "cat bath." We were "supposedly" to have been alerted to that fact there would be no water through the night, but we were not. We would NOT stay there again.
