This was my first and last stay at the Rio. I came with a friend and we had separate rooms in different towers. In both rooms things were broken, dirty, and extremely outdated and old. It's hard to believe this is a Harrah's property. The linens were clean, I'll give them that, but the rooms smelled and were seriously gross. If you book a room here just know you're getting a motel experience and not a vegas luxury experience. The casino is good but and the staff are friendly, this place just needs to be gutted and get a complete rehab. I'm 100% certain all of the furniture and interior design aspects of my room are the original ones from when it was built in 1990.. and it shows. Also, the Rio is off from the strip.. don't expect to be able to walk to another casino

This was our fourth stay at a Harrah's property and the first time at Rio. This was by far our most disappointing. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating and the room was very spacious. When we got to our room, we had a wet cloth/floor mop sitting on top of the dresser. This was our first concern. When we opened the TV cabinet, one of the doors would not stay open and was really a safety hazard. The sofa cushions sank into the sofa when you sat on them and the headboard was extremely worn and cracked. If you leaned up against and and then went to get up, it sounded like velcro being pulled apart as you got up. The shower/tub diverter valve needed to be replaced as half of the water continued to run into the tub rather than thru the shower head. The closet door would not completely close as the ironing board legs protruded through it due to being hung improperly on the wall. The carpet in the hallways and in the room were coming apart at the seams and long "strings" of carpet fiber were apparent. If someone would just cut the long strings, it would be a huge improvement. The list goes on, but hopefully one gets the idea of the needed maintenance. We asked for clean towels and more shampoo. I left the dirty towels at the door. When we got back, we had clean towels and toilet paper. I called back down to let them know they didn't pick up the dirty towels and didn't bring any shampoo. Housekeeping brought more towel as well as shampoo, lotion as soap. The bed was comfortable but noticed small tears in our sheets. There were four very small pillows on the bed - each with varying degrees of firmness. Parking is complimentary and they have a four level deck for parking. Evening shows at the hotel - especially on Friday and Saturday nights - made finding a parking spot a challenge.

I had completed the pre check in, but since the hotel seemed to be having issues I still had to go to the desk. The woman who tried to help me check in was not pleasant. In fact she was downright rude. Her manager finally came and took care of it. They do not have a luggage cart you can use to get luggage to your room. I'm handicap and they said they could store my luggage and call when I got to my room and they would get it to me. The room while nice was not what I reserved. I was supposed to be in masquerade tower with view of strip. We were not in masquerade and barely able to see strip. We had to Uber every where we went and where pickup was at unbelievable. There was a piece of a rubber gloves on the floor between the beds and yes took a picture of it. The room had no microwave or coffee maker. Your choice order coffee from room service and pay $14 or go downstairs to Starbucks. The toilet paper holder falling off the wall. The reservation said game system and mini bar in room to which we had none. Upon checkout again I was sent an email for quick check out and of course didn't work. We were very disappointed and if staying longer than one night would have switched hotels. I would like to think I did compare and read reviews, but I guess can't always tell. We will not stay again and definitely not recommend either. We do a lot of traveling so this just didn't even compare to even chain hotels.
