With the exception of the front desk supervisor I worked with on the first day every member of staff was rude and unhelpful. Half of the stuff in my hotel room was broken and even after multiple attempts I was never able to get ahold of anyone to fix them. Getting in touch with any employee via the in room phone was an absolute nightmare. I would get to a recording asking me to make a selection and no matter what number I pressed the line would either immediately go dead or in the rare 1 in 10 shot that it actually started ringing noone ever picked up. I tried calling from the in room phone and even tried calling the publicly listed numbers from my cell phone and got the same result either way. Ivy their digital concierge isn't too terrible when it decides to work. I was averaging about a 30 minute delay for it to respond to any requests/questions I sent and it still missed a few.The one positive I can give about this entire experience is that upon check-in the room was absolutely spotless and it is clear that their housekeeping staff has a high attention to detail.

Worst Stay in Las Vegas Hotel

I stayed at the Rio from 1/14-1/15, and it was the worst experience I had ever had staying in a hotel in Las Vegas, and I have stayed in probably a dozen hotels there. There was someone behind me in line at the front desk that started getting in my face and harassing me, and the woman at the front desk just sat there. And then the manager came out and said because she didn't see anything, there is nothing they could do. I am sure that he was still allowed to stay there. That was one of the worst things to happen to me in Las Vegas. Then add on that my television remote wasn't working, and they left a card in my door saying it was fixed, but then it still didn't work, even when they tried twice later, they couldn't fix it. And every time I called the front desk, with either my cell phone or the hotel room's phone I would just get an outsourced call center, where the people didn't really know anything, and were not helpful. And a restaurant there was out of almost everything twice in a row, and then opened later than they were supposed to the next morning. It took four attempts to finally order one item there. I will definitely not be staying at the Rio again.

Everything in the room was worn. It all worked but it was clearly last year's model. It was a suite - really? Does having a sagging hideabed couch make it a suite? What about the absent coffee pot and microwave? And how about the paper cups that fell apart in your hands because of their shoddy paper construction? Facial tissue that actually scratched my nose. Ouch! Ice machine in the hall worked. That was a plus. And the airport shuttle: "we haven't had one of those for years". Yeah, along with a lot of other stuff...
