I stayed at the room about 5 years ago and had no problems, I was told the property had been sold and it’s been downhill since. We were supposed to stay fri-mon for a music festival. We were delayed so didn’t arrive to the hotel until nearly 2a but were shocked to see a line wrapping all the way around the bar in the middle of the lobby for check in. There were only 1-2 people working the counter at a time. One of the managers was wasp king around the casino but no one communicated anything. There are numerous self check in/out machines at the desk area but all of them were off or broken. We waited over 2.5 hours in line waiting to be checked in. When we finally were there was no bellmen or any way to help us get our luggage up to the room. Once we found the room we were nervous to enter since the door was ajar and tv was on…. Luckily no one was in the room but it was unsettling to say the least. When I did push open the door to enter the screw from the lock immediately fell out, leaving a price hanging so we couldn’t fully close the door or latch it. We reluctantly went back down to the lobby (which is quite the trek) to find out if we could be switched to a room with a functioning lock. The manager Allan was as helpful as he could be but many things were out of his control as the hotel was packed and he had only two staff members at the front. He said there were no open rooms so we would have to stay in the room with the broken lock or hang out in the lobby/casino until another room became available. On top of the lock not working in the room it was absolutely, completely false advertising. I paid for a 2 queen suite with Mountain View, it was a parking lot view and the room was old, carpet stained and ripped, dust everywhere, what looked like camo drapes instead of headboards and the same hideous camo like print over the window drapings, the bathroom was awful and old and had a very creepy window from the shower looking at the beds. There were layers of dust on the side on bedside tables. Online it said 35$ resort fee but we were charged 45$ a night which is a joke since there’s no mini bar, WiFi doesn’t work, no service, the pool area looks like it hasn’t been taken care of since they opened. We were told that the first night resort fee would be waved due to the check in disaster then after the further issues Allan said he would waive the other two nights of fees but turns out we still had to have them removed when we checked out. Stay anywhere else!

We were heading for Las Vegas for a convention unfortunately this was planned amid the nfl draft so our usual hotel was sold out and we headed to the Rio. Last time I stayed there was in 2001. You would expect something had changed and updated. Wrong lots of empty covered up spaces in the hotel not much changed. What we did encounter was an unfriendly staff. The roomIs spacious but it has seen its best time same for the couch that had had its best time as well. The bathroom is outdated and needs urgent updating. In general a very dissatisfied and disappointed experience. While we explicit asked for housekeeping you guess it they didn’t. Only the 3rd day after multiple calls to housekeeping and guests services and ivy the virtual butler is so bad you don’t want to use it
