From the moment we arrived at the hotel the line for checkin had about 50 people with only 2 Guest Service employees behind the counter. Most of the restaurants and shops were closed down inside, the Casino was completely dark and the only lighting came from the slot machines which there wasn't anyone playing in the Rio Casino. The pools they advertise was false. Only 2 pools open and the other pools were closed, dingy, and dirty, and most of the lounge chairs were very old and broken. The little booths by the pool for food and drink had been closed down and looked like they had been closed several years. The elevator for outside parking was also broken and only one elevator working. On the bed there were blood stains on the side of the bed. When we did check out I called for a bellman and no one showed for 45 minutes. I had to go downstairs and go outside to the bell desk to get someone to come to our room as we had luggage we couldn't carry ourselves all the way to the car. Very disappointed in this hotel and will never come back. I heard that this hotel will be demolished so that may be why the hotel has not been kept up. I would not recommend this hotel

As you have read, many restaurants closed and needs some updating. It wasn't dirty and room was okay. I have stayed here many times over the years and I like that it is not on the strip and is quieter but I am probably in a minority. And we heard Caesars is closing it soon, so all makes sense. Vegas is so expensive and crazier than ever, but I guess the pandemic is to blame as well. And if you do stay here because it is cheap (and really not so bad), easy quick Uber ride to strip but have to catch Uber down in parking garage. (about a 7 minute walk to the left of main entrance, make sure to ask) I guess Vegas hates Uber.

Even though this hotel has been purchased by the Hyatt chain and needs some tender loving care, I still love staying at the Rio. The rooms are amazing for the price point. Large, comfortable with wonderful beds, and being a Las Vegas resort, offers many great places to choose meals from. The only downside is that the hotel is across the freeway from the Las Vegas strip. Staff is very helpful and friendly, but do not let the prices fool you. Even though the rooms are advertised very inexpensively by the time resort fees and security deposits are applied, your room for one night will cost well over the advertised prices. Bit overall, it is a great and fun place to stay Even in a covid time of our lives. There is plenty of room to park any size vehicle you have and unlike many, parking is free.

We stayed in one of their nicer larger suites and it had a nice view and was very roomy, but it was very dated and in average condition. As to the overall site there was almost nothing open. Only one restaurant, pool closed at 6:00, no night life. Gave the property a chance to make it better by just waving the resort fee but that was too much to ask. Probably will get rid of my Caesars Reward Card and account since they really don't care about my overall experience.
