The Rio has been around a long time, and it shows in the older building, called the Ipanema Tower. While the company does well to maintain it, there are tell-tale signs around, such as frayed carpet and worn and missing tiles. The casino action is okay, although for a site that houses the World Series of Poker every June, the day-to-day poker action is seriously lacking. The room rarely has more than 3 tables in action, and the daily tournaments often have just a single table. It has all of facilities and amenities one expects in a Vegas Hotel - a casino with all the expected games, lots of hotel rooms, several restaurants and a full staff. Its off-strip location is a little inconvenient. But, it is far less expensive than most of the major properties in town, and I think its daily hotel rates are the least expensive in the Caesars Entertainment array of hotels.
