Two-factor authentication

What is Two Factor Authentication (2FA)?

2FA is an extra layer of security to make sure that the person trying to gain access to your account is actually you. After entering your username and password, you’ll be prompted to enter an additional code that you’ll receive by text to the mobile number associated with your account. Enter the correct code, and you’re in. Message rates may apply.

Why are you doing this?

This extra step lets us know that it’s actually you at the gate and not some malicious actor Trojan-Horsing around and pretending to be you.  It’ll only require a few extra seconds of your time, and it’s only required (after the first one) when you use a new device or after a certain number of days of inactivity.

Do I have to enter a code every time I log in?

No. After your next log in and the initial 2FA code entry, 2FA will only be required when you log in from a new device (like a different phone or browser) or after a longer period of inactivity.

Should you prefer additional security, we do offer optional 2FA that can be toggled on for every time you log in, and we always recommend using this feature to secure your account.  To set up optional 2FA for all logins, go into your Account, tap “Preferences”, tap “Two-Factor Authentication, and tap “Enable”.  Again, this is an optional feature we recommend for every login. If you do not prefer that option – you do not need to take any actions to set anything up.

Is there anything else you’d recommend I do to protect the security of my account?

In addition to using our optional 2FA, we’d also recommend that you regularly update your Caesars Sportsbook account password, and never use the same password for any of your online accounts. You should also regularly review your Caesars Sportsbook account transactions for anything suspicious. If you notice any suspicious activity, report it to customer service right away.

What should I do if I have questions about this?

Choose “Support” in the account menu on the app to contact our Customer Service team.

Why am I being required to set up Two-Factor Authentication in NJ?

Due to state regulations, all operators in New Jersey must use two-factor authentication. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Password and 2-Factor Authentication for NV Users

Password

You will need to enter your password every time you want to sign into your account. Please select a password that is between 8-16 characters long and contains two different types of characters (e.g. a-z, A-Z, 0-9).

Why is 2-Factor Authentication an option?

This extra step lets us know that it’s actually you at the gate and not some malicious actor Trojan-Horsing around and pretending to be you.  It’ll only require a few extra seconds of your time.

Is there anything else you’d recommend I do to protect the security of my account?

I am being incorrectly located outside of my state (PC/Mac).

If you believe that you are within state borders and you are being restricted from playing for real money on a desktop or laptop computer, there may be an issue with locating you via Wi-Fi. In most cases, yes, however if you less than a half a mile from the border, you may be blocked from play and will need to move further away from the border and try again. Your IP address may also be incorrectly placing you in a neighboring state and you will need to correct your IP address.

If I have remote desktop software, such as LogMeIn or GoToMyPC, actively running on my laptop or desktop, can I still be accurately geolocated?

If I am failing a proxy check, but am sure I'm not using a proxy service, what might be happening?

We have detected unusual activity from your IP address, and our proxy check can be sensitive to possible viruses infecting a user's computer. If you're certain you're not using a proxy but still failing this check, the issue could be related to viruses or malware on your device or any other device that shares your internet connection. We recommend checking your computer for possible viruses and/or malware (remove any that are present), and ensure you have an updated anti-virus program installed and running. Once you have removed the malware, it can take up to a few days for the update to take effect in our systems. For a list of Google's recommended anti-virus software, please visit

If I'm using a public Wi-Fi hotspot to access the internet, can I still be accurately geolocated?

Yes you can. However, please be aware that from time to time, when using an internet connection provided by some larger businesses, their internet connection source may be associated with a location outside of allowed state. To resolve this issue, you may need to try accessing the internet from another location/connection source.

When I upgraded to Adobe 9, the EXE link for downloading the geolocation plugin is replaced by an Adobe link in error. What should I do?

What has happened is your EXE files have become associated with an Adobe format (this is a known Adobe 9 bug). In order to revert them back to their original format you must follow these steps:

  1. Download the EXE reg file (link below).
  2. Save the .reg file to your desktop.
  3. Right click on the downloaded .reg file, and click on Merge.
  4. If prompted, click on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK.
  5. Finally, Log off and log on, or restart the computer to apply.

If you do not see a Merge option when you right click on the REG file, then you will need to check in Default Programs to set the reg file extension to have its Current Default program set as Registry Editor (C:\Windows\regedit.exe). Afterwards, try merging the REG file again.

What is the difference between a public and private Wi-Fi connection? And how could it affect my ability to be located?

A public WiFi network (e.g. coffee shop, hotel, etc. where a network is shared with many other people), especially those run by larger businesses, may be associated with a location outside of allowed state and prevent access to real-money gaming. To resolve this issue, try accessing the internet from another location/connection source, preferably a private, password protected, un-shared, secure Wi-Fi connection such as your home or work network.

How do I re-boot a Wi-Fi router?

The simplest and most effective way to re-boot a Wi-Fi router is to unplug the router from its power source, wait up to 30 seconds and plug it back in. Be sure to give the router a bit of time to fully re-boot and connect before trying again.

How can i get better Wi-Fi accuracy on my computer?

You may be experiencing issues with Wi-Fi accuracy because your device cannot detect enough Wi-Fi access points.

If your device cannot see enough Wi-Fi APs, it will be difficult to locate you. This may occur in rural areas or even in very tall buildings. Try moving to an area with more APs nearby, or using a Wi-Fi extender in order to detect more APs that may be a greater distance away. *(For more information on Wi-Fi access points please refer to: “What are Wi-Fi access points, and how can my device find more?”)*

What are Wi-Fi access points, and how can my device find more?

Wi-Fi access points are devices that allow one to connect to network/internet sources through their own Wi-Fi enabled device. The more available access points nearby, the more accurately we can locate you. Your device does not necessarily need to be connected to any of these networks, but simply must be able to 'see' them.

If your device cannot see enough Wi-Fi APs, it will be difficult to locate you. This may occur in rural areas or even in very tall buildings. Try moving to an area with more APs nearby, or using a Wi-Fi extender in order to detect more APs that may be a greater distance away.

How do I get better cellular reception on my mobile device?

Cellular reception is greatly affected by your physical location. If you are in a basement/underground parking lot this may impede your ability to be located - try moving to an open area so you are in closer range of a cell tower. Some areas in a building or house may have 'dead zones' with little to no cellular reception - try to adjust your location in order to obtain better reception. Players in rural areas with little/poor cell tower reception may need to change their location more drastically to obtain a stronger signal.

How To Bet Guide

How To Bet Guide

SPORTS BETTING EXPLAINED – TYPES OF SPORTS WAGERS

Curious about the types of sports bet? Check out Caesars Sportsbook's guide to sports betting, which covers all the need-to-know topics and terms. Learn about all popular types of bets, including parlays, teaser bets, prop bets, and all the need to know terminology for betting on sports.

Parlay – What is a Parlay Bet?

A parlay is a single bet that links two or more wagers; to win the bet, the player must win all the wagers in the parlay. If the player loses one wager, he loses the entire bet.  However, if the player wins all the wagers in the parlay, the player wins a higher payoff than if the player had placed the bets separately.

What is a Straight Bet

A straight bet is an individual wager on a game or event that will be determined by a pointspread or money line.

Futures Betting

A futures bet is a wager placed on an event typically far in the future, such as which team will win next year’s pro football championship game or pro hockey championship series.

Propositions – Prop Bets

Proposition bets, or “prop” bets, focus on the outcome of events within a given game. Props are often offered on marquee games of great interest. These include Sunday and Monday night pro football games, various high-profile college football games, major college bowl games and playoff and championship games. An example of a prop bet is “Which team will score the first touchdown?”

Teaser Bet

A teaser is a type of football or basketball wager in which the pointspread is adjusted by additional points in the player’s favor on more than one game. In football, a player may move the posted pointspread 6, 6.5, 7, 10 or 14 points. In basketball, 4, 4.5 and 5-point sports betting teasers are offered.

Round Robin Bet

A round robin is a series of parlays.  For example, a 3-team round robin consists of three 2-team parlays   (A + B, A + C and B + C).

IMPORTANT TERMS

Point Spread

The most popular sports bets are based on the point spread. The point spread represents the margin of points in which the favored team must win the game by to “cover the spread.” Bets on the point spread are usually offered at 11 to 10 odds.  For example, a player must bet $11 to win $10 for a total payout of $21 or $110 to win $100.

Money Line Bet

The money line represents the odds of a team winning the game outright without the use of the pointspread. The money line is expressed as a 3-digit number. For example -150 means a player must bet $150 for every $100 he wishes to win, $15 for every $10 and multiples thereof.
