DEAD HEAT FAQ
When multiple competitors tie for a position that determines a winning wager, Caesars Sportsbook distributes the available winning positions among the tied competitors and settles the applicable portion of the stake at the original odds.
- Dead heat settlement applies unless otherwise specified in the rules governing a particular market.
- Official results from the relevant league/governing body or event organizer will determine settlement.
- Where market-specific rules provide an alternative method for settling tied outcomes, those rules will take precedence.
- All tied selections share the available winning positions equally for settlement purposes.
- If multiple competitors share a finishing position, we will allocate the available winning positions among the tied competitors and pay the corresponding proportion of your stake at the original odds. This ensures all tied selections receive an equal share of the available payout positions.
- Calculation – Qualifying Stake = Original Stake × (Number of Available Winning Positions ÷ Number of Tied Selections)
- The payout the customer receives is based on the qualifying stake multiplied by the original decimal odds accepted at the time the wager was placed.
