We had a comp room, traveled with our dog, was told it would be $104 plus tax and resort fees and processing fee (I called w/questions). Because of our dog, we were supposed to pay. After combining our player cards, there was enough to comp the room both nights. The room was on 1st floor, very nice for pet owners. It was huge with big jacuzzi tub next to bed. Clean, plenty of towels. There is easy access to the dog walk area, right out the back door. The employees were all very nice and helpful. The casino is closed. Lobby area smells of mildew/mold, it's weird. Harrah's owns this property, easy walk to Horseshoe next door. The casino is very smokey and it wasn't busy at all. Both of us are sick b/c of smoke. The buffet is not what it used to be, really sad. BF had to leave and get sick due to the smoke, he didn't get to eat anything except jello. The food was ok, but nothing like it used to be. No shrimp at salad bar, no large area with bread and rolls, self serve drinks, which was fine. The area with the breakfast choices is now in with the home cooking part. Cutbacks everywhere.

Harrah's Tahoe needs some love. Apparently there is no maintenance department in existence anymore. The door to the room was very scratched and scuffed. The shower pan looked like someone had died in there. One of the coffee tables looked like a reject from Goodwill with all it's scratches and scrapes. The security chain lock was missing, although the holes were still present in the door. There was no in-room coffee maker as advertised. The drinking glasses looked dirty. And, like so many other places, we had to pay an additional $15 to park. I don't know whether to say we were disgusted or disappointed, I suppose both adjectives apply here. Sad.

I called Harrah’s Stateline, South Lake Tahoe on short notice. (Surprise Getaway for my Wife). From 1st phone call for reservation to checkout, all interactions with Harrah’s were courteous, knowledgeable and prompt. I was pleasantly surprised at the rate charged for a last minute booking.!!! The room was far beyond my expectations for the price we paid. It was clean with a wonderful partial lake view and had plenty of literature for things to see and do at the Lake. The only thing I was disappointed with was that there was no coffee maker in room, ..arghhh !!?? but that was probably a good thing as my wife had to settle for a delicious STARBUCKS on site...lol The entire experience was as amazing as if I had planned it out months ahead of time. It was so darn perfect, the best I can hope for on my next visit is the exact same experience. Don W (Reno local that needed a night out)
