Eric Hession is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Caesars Entertainment. He manages the company’s finances, which includes financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping and financial reporting.
In October 2017, Caesars emerged from one of the most complex and lengthy Chapter 11 bankruptcies in U.S. history. At the helm was Hession and his team, who helped reinforce Caesars positive cash flow position by developing a long-term strategic growth plan and streamlining business operations. He was also instrumental in refinancing the company’s debt structure and reallocating funds in non-gaming offerings to help the company remain competitive in the hospitality market.
Hession joined Caesars Entertainment in 2002 and has held positions in both property operations and corporate finance. While in operations, he led the planning and analysis, revenue management, distribution and accounting efforts for Caesars’ 12 Nevada properties. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Treasurer. In this capacity, his responsibilities included the leadership of treasury, investor relations, risk management and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to his employment with Caesars, he spent five years with Merck and Company, working in various capacities in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and New Jersey.
Hession strongly believes in giving back to the local community and sits on the board of the Las Vegas Red Cross chapter. Las Vegas became his home in 2002.
Hession grew up in Pittsford, Vermont and attended Cornell University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering. He also holds an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
